Jim, do you know what rear end gear ratio you have? If 3.73 or more you will want the .64 5th gear. If 3.42 or less perhaps the .82 5th gear so you can cruise some distance with us without higher rpms.

just for the record most of us don't have the money either. We can get it done but it hurts...plus wife never forgets those kind of expenses.

It looks like friday i hope i will be getting my car back. We shall see?
They had to pull the motor to put the new tranny in and they didn't expect that.

TKO 600 in mine with a .65 fifth gear and a 3.46 rear end and 17 inch wheels with Michellin PS2's. I curse 60 mph traffic. Bad speed for those numbers, too fast for a steady fourth and too slow for fifth. 75mph is sweet. I once got over 15 mpg for a tank doing a pretty steady 75. My normal milage is in the 10mpg range -- ouch. Tranny has been problem free, but only has 3000 miles on it so far. I'm sure you will follow Tremec's break-in recommendations and be really easy on it the first 500 miles. I know Rob at No Limits is big on breaking in things properly so I bet he will bend your ear on that. Sorry you had to go through all the hassle and expense, bummer. Sounds like you'll have a great setup when you're done though.

Thank you sandy, i am really looking forward to the new setup! I guess i need to put that 500 miles on it quickly or i can't take it to the track.
I hope i get a little better mileage with this one, avg 7 to 9 on the other, we will see.
Hope to have it saturday night, if so i will stop by the show at 83rd for a few minutes before my poker party sat. Nite.
By the way short notice but any and all of my cobra friends are welcome to a texas holdem tourney/game and party 7:30 pm on saturday. Just let me know.
Thanks, jim.

the 500 has a 10 spline imput shaft and the 600 has a 26 spline. The 500 has a 3:25 first gear and the 600 has a 2:87 first. The 600 also has an optional .82 5th gear ratio.

Well i got my baby back this morning and boy do you realize how much you miss these cars when you don't have it. It runs great! It took an extra couple of days due to the new 2 piece rear main he replaced was leaking so he wouldn't release it and he put another new one in, no leaks anywhere!!
I have to say i do like the work he did and he obviously knows what he is doing over there. Saw 2 other cobras in his shop, one brand new he is putting a roush engine and a tranny in. The other is having some custom stuff done to it, a superformance gray with silver stripes.
Only drove it in rush hour this morning but it will be my daily driver the next couple of weeks, have to get that 500 miles on it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Jim.

I'm happy you got your Cobra back and are satisfied with the outcome. I know how much you enjoy your Cobra and hope the trans last a lot longer than the last one. Hope to meet up soon.
