Sandy C. There are many motels in a row either side of the Travel Lodge. If you cannot find a room, you can stay in mine. I will be traveling alone. Just be prepared to suffer the inane joke consequences here on CC. Specially from Dan, Karl, John, Mike and everyone else you know.
Sandy, DON"T DO IT! You've got the rest of your life and its just not worth it! You'd never be able to look at yourself in the mirror! No matter how nice Bob comes across, remember, there is NO FREE LUNCH!

I am indulging in quite a few glasses of Appelton Estate Rum neat, while reading this and laughing my a$$ off!
Karl, you must be real familiar with "Bob's Midnight Antic's"!

No Personal experience, just word in the halls and written on subway walls. Bob's quite a traveller and has built a reputation across this great land of ours...and Canada.

Thanks for the generous offer and suggestions. I reserved a room at the America's Best Value Inn just south of the freeway from the Travelodge. Sold out were Travelodge, Best Western 1, Best Western 2 and Holiday Inn Express. It appears that if someone is thinking about doing this they should make a room reservation now. I saw that the Days Inn still has rooms available but at $170 for two nights is about twice what America's Best costs (you get what pay for? gulp).
Anyway, what do you do guys do with your cars overnight as far as security issues go? Right now I'm just planning on bringing a car cover and crossing my fingers.
Barb and I are going but will only be staying Saturday night in Kingman.
If any one is interested We have two cars leaving on Thursday to Gallop NM. We are going to take Route 66 ALL the way through AZ to Golden Shores. Here is the plan....
Thursday night Gallop NM.
Friday night Williams AZ.
Saturday night Kingman AZ.
All are welcomed if interested!

Brian, NO Way, from Minnesota to Arizona in one day? I know you're fast in the Cobra, but over 2000 miles in a day?

Sandy, all of our cars are parked together right outside our room doors. Our building is in the back and we fill most of it. Just bring a cover, there will be 900 other cars there with covers on too.
Brian, see you in Williams too. I called and confirmed four (4) room reservations in Williams on Friday, May 1st. Motel 6 (928-635-9000). Each room is at $69.99. Our confirmation number is 202990. The person who took the reservation is Katrina. We have four rooms blocked at this time.
