The 2009 Fun Run history
WOW! what a weekend. You guys that miss this are at a loss. Bunches of good people, cars and fun. I am sure photos will follow. Great time with cobra drivers Mike, Paul, Dan, George, Brian, Sandy, Don, Lyle, Jeff, Fitz, and many more. Thanks go to Jay in Kingman for breakfast Sunday. And to Mikie C for all the fun Saturday morning at the Shell station in the cold, and wind. Thanks to Bruce and his GT500 with a top and all the pink T-Shirts and the pyrometer. If you were there you would know.
AZ Bob

Cathy and I had a great time on the Run. Jay and Trisha hosted a fantastic breakfast spread at their home for the gang, THANK YOU. I have some photos that will show some of the insanity that was going on when my camera comes home. MikieC and crew retrieved it from the gas station were I left it at earlier. This is the place we had to do a little roadside repair on Mikiec Hot Rod. More on this to follow later.

Well, Those of you that stayed home again this year missed one of the best runs in a long time.
We have a new pathfinder in Dan. He got us lost leaving Jay's house Sunday AM.
Jeff, I'll bring the camera Tuesday night.
A huge thanks goes out from me to Dan, SandyC, Jeff. Plus all the on lookers and some of Fitz' crew for needed jacks to get my battery changed. It is not an easy thing to do on a FFR. Dan went into Seligman to get a new battery while SandyC got out a screw jack to start raising the right rear, next came a bottle jack to help the process.
Once the new battery was connected, but not in place some one in the crowd, Don the Stud Finder, said.. Let's start it up and make sure the battery was the problem. This was said while Sandy, Jeff and myself were under the car.
I have posted some 300+ pics here : http://s210.photobucket.com/albums/b...e%2066%202009/
More later...

It is not an easy thing to do on a FFR.
Correction, not an easy thing on 'your' FFR. Mine takes about 5 minutes.
Glad you all had a good time. Pink and I were up at his cabin driving the sand rail and shooting up the countryside. We even thought about ya'll one or twice.
Hope to make it again next year if my $$ sit is better.

Man, to think I almost didn't go on this run, whew, glad I did. Great fun and lots of stories but my hands got cramped up from holding onto my steering wheel so hard trying to keep up with you guys. At least toward the end I was able to even notice they were cramped, so getting more relaxed. A high point for me was when that [crazy] guy in the Hyundai was weaving in and out of traffic trying to take us on and then eventually getting run off the freeway by that 18-wheeler driver who finally lost his patience -- hah! What a maroon.
Here's a link to a panorama taken at Oatman on Route 66. No Cobras (everybody had scattered by then to meet up later) but at least you can see what the place looked like and you can see a few of the other cars from the run there.

Thanks Mike for organizing a great run.
