"Challenge" apologies, from John
I'd like to apologise to the Challenge participants who were left without clear directions about where we were going. By way of explanation, I made a decision as we drove away from the Eloy airport to bypass the planned stop at the Francisco Grande and to go directly to the Dairy Queen. This was based on a quick conversation when I was told that some of the folks were not going to Francisco Grande but directy to the D.Q., this took place as we were leaving the Eloy airport. My thoughts were to keep the group together and lead all of us to the D.Q. Also, I was thinking of trying to find the nearest gas station for the two guys who needed fuel, I knew that there was no fuel available on the planned route to the Francisco Grande. My thoughts were to keep us all together. As it turned out, some were caught at stop lights along my now improvised route and had no directions and no idea about where to go since we were in an area we'd never driven in before. In retrospect I should have stopped and informed everyone of the change in plans and broken our group into three separate groups of ten, smaller groups seem to work a lot better in any city traffic. I apologize to those that I caused to be lost, inconvienced, and miss out on the cameradry of traveling with our large group.

John, I didn't hear anyone complaining (I had my ipod cranked up) I kept trying to tell Mesa Dave the directions but he followed the pack and came out a lot better than if he'd gone the way I wanted. GASP! Dave was right, and I was wrong. What is this world coming to. Had a great time, Thanks for all your plotting and organizing. Well Done.

John
The main thing is we all (at least the ones that wanted to) made it to the D.Q.
Dave wasn't right he just followed the cars in front and this way if we got lost we got lost as a group.
Thanks again

I was going to try and hook up with you guys at the DQ in Casa Grande but no one was there when I got to the DQ.
Which DQ did you guys go to? I went to the one on Florence Rd near I-10.

John, I can't answer for anyone else, but I had a great time. As far as I can tell, we all had a great time. If anyone should apologize, it should be Dave. I'm not sure why, but I'm tired of blaming Karl for everything so I thought I would blame Dave.. or even Bob. Bob is always fun to pick on.. You know which Bob I mean. The one who wishes he had a 2" drive shaft..

A good rule when traveling in groups is "keep the guy behind you in your rearview mirror". That way, if someone hits a light, the guys in front pull over. Works pretty well.

It's like buffalo and wolves. We leave the weaker ones that drop behind for the the Vettes and ricers to pick off.

It seems like trying to organize a bunch of Cobras is like trying to herd a bunch of cats. Don't think it can be done. Not at least with the AZ gang.

Karl, I have one that is in the planning stages right now. I've found four intersections with at least five corners, also a street that has stop lights every 1/2 mile. The next Arizona Challenge will be just that.
