All went well...
I'll be sending the application and, of course, the dinero off on Monday.

We all know that the background check will get bounced. Maybe Mikie can claim that those problems were the old, large, Mikie, not the new and improved, svelte model. Good luck, but then how tough could it be if Bob B. slid through?

If Bob B slid through, even Mikie should have no problem..

Hey, Dave... How you doing?
Yes, I know. They told us that. Gives me time to find a carry gun. My XD45 is a little to conspicious.

Mikie, That Detonics that Bob B sent the link about looks pretty nice, if you're after a hefty caliber. I carry a little Keltec 32, loaded with Corbon which gives parctically the balistics of a 38sp in a very light weight, easy to conceal package. Keltecs are very reasonably priced, well made, and simple to operate since they are DA only. I think the loaded weight of my pistol is under 7oz and its so thin that it is not noticable even in jeans pockets. Justa thought.

Congrats Mikie. I took my CCW in 2004 and it was then 2 days 8 hours class rules and safety and 6 hours range. I carry a Springfield Armory EMP 9mm, strips like my 1911 Colt 45 cal.
1911 to bulky to conceal. Look into the EMP kind of pricey. I had a Walters PPK ala Bond, cal to small, EMP is about same size as the PPK. Good luck and be safe.

I'm looking for a 45acp to carry. The one that Bob posted might do. I'm also looking at the Colt Defender and the SA 1911 micro-compact. It would be nice if SA made an XD45in subcompact.

As you know I carry a Kel-Tec 32 like Karl. In fact I have 2 of them. Stocked with corbon first 2 and rest are jhp. Great little, light, flat carry weapon with 7+1 shots. I would prefer to carry a small .45 and I have 2 of those too but, here in AZ we are dressed mostly in T-Shirt and Shorts so the .32 is an out of sight compromise. If dressed with long sleeve shirt, jacket or coat, I would choose the bigger bores.

As I am sure you are aware Mickie, SA does make a 9 ml sub compact. i just picked up one for my wife to shoot. I love it. Very accurate, lightweight and small. Not quite as much kick as the .45 but more than a .38 I would assume

Ron,
A 9 would be my next choice. But, I'de rather have the 45. I have found some holsters that allow the wearing of T-shirts tucked in. Still have more investigation to do.

Dan and Karl, I may be down in your neighborhood next Saturday at the Crossroads of the West Gun Show in Mesa. Need a nylon pouch to carry my extra .32 mags. I find them only at Gun Shows for about $10. Of course you never know what else you may find that you just can't live without.
