Shot my eye out...
Well not really.
Took the new toy out on Sunday to see how it shoots. A bit more kick than my XD but not to bad. I had heard that these have a habit of ejecting shells straigth back. Yup, they do, I had about 3 of 4 fly back, one hit my forehead.
Did not care to much for groups this time out so the best I could do was 3 inches at ten yards.
Oh, by the way the toy is a 1911 Colt defender.

It's a 10.5 barrel Blackhawk with hot loads, I use to silhouette shoot open iron sight at 125 M.
I also used it for deer hunting I dropped a 8 point Buck at over 200 yards.
I want a 500Mag ..

Mikie I once had a piece of brass from someone else's gun (I was running the timer at a match) wedge between my glasses and the bridge of my nose. Talk about dancin'!

Ruger made the Blackhawk with up to a 10 and 1/2 inch barrel. We have a friend, Bruce, who has a Super Redhawk with a 16 inch barrel and scope.

For years my only handgun was was a .44Mag super blackhawk with a 6.5 inch barrel.
You should see what's left after a day going for rabbits. My original intention was to go BlackBear hand gun hunting, never did get drawn. Took down a number of javilina and one cow. Don't ask about the cow.
Now I'm down to a more civilized 45 acp.
