Default Concrete

Mando,

The neighbours were as nice as pie before I started the project. It took 4 lots of plans for them to reject (the first couple were over the top I must admit) but they didn't want to agree on any of them. Their fruit tree's would be in the shade was the last straw. I then advised the Drafty to design it within the Council Guidlines (with some exceptions from the good neighbour) and they still rejected the plans. I advised them that THIS was within the regulations and it was going ahead. They went to the Council and tried to get the permit revoked. I then had to remove the cement sheeting (some might call it aspestos and I advised the time and date for this. I also arranged for temp fencing as they have two fantastic dogs (real one's not the daughter) They called the council to complain when the professional removalist arrived. I would need another 5 threads to complete the story but I think you get the drift. It comes down to they lied about their plans to me, they just dont want anyone to develop around them as they have been there for 25 years and they treat it as theirs. It will affect their plans in the future.
We havent spoken since I threatened to build 4 units for drug rehab patients.

PCC,

The garage is on their border for 9 meters.

Zedn,

I am actually quite excited about concrete NOW TOO....

Todays update,
6.30am

There was a bit of rain toda y which delayed the team a bit, but when I left they were full steam ahead. So by PM today there should be a slab.

Stiff,

At least you knwo to call concrete concreter. You'll be surprised how many people call it cement (Zedn - no you don't need to step in here mate - I know you want to, but you don't need to).

You must feel for your neighbours especially with the fruit trees - you get used to your surroundings especially after 25 years!

Then who comes along - a Cobrafelilite banging and carrying on who needs a Grand Auditorium to place his toy

You'll need to hand out your olive branch Stiff as Neighbours can play hell with your head if it gets out of hand - Good luck!

I worked as a concreter for 3 years whilst studying. They were a small Italian company who believed wheel barrows where for 2 purposes. 1 - to save that $700 and get me to be the pump, and 2 to fill with ice and beer at lunch time. After wheeling barrows of crete down steep driveways i can no longer run on my knee without wearing a brace.

Default Fruit Tree's

PCC,

I would agree with the fruit tree statement IF THERE WERE ANY FRUIT ON THEM.......

18 months and not even a peach......

I also like fruit tree's, I have 2 lemon tree's for my Gin & Tonic and 1 Lime tree for the Carona. Mine grow alright,,,,,

I think the friendship has finished, the above story was the tip of the iceburg, threatening legal action, injunctions, delaying tactic's, adverse possession claims, Council Officers dropping in ( yeh right ) demanding shared access to MY LAND!!! the list goes on......

The neighbours emal address starts with dragonlady..... get the drift....

Stiffy, great progress being made - especially considering the late Melb winter blast. Now about this neighbour problem...

Aren't you concerned about their attitude to LOUD cars being started for early Sunday morning runs? I reckon you've set yourself up for regular visits from Mr Plod (although I hope not).

Regular visits from LoBelly (or a lack of them) may constitute a valuable barganing chip.

I am at your service Stiffy
