Gee the neighbors would have been impressed, NOT.
I hope your not expecting drinks and nibbles at Christmas with them.
Regards.

Wow, you have some different building codes. I had beams like that in my houses but nothing in a garage.

Merv & Sharon,
No its just a garage.
Slowly,
There could be some meetings taking place here, parking will be a problem for a while.....
Mando,
Its fully compliant with the local Council laws, and this council has a heap of them. The rear neighbours are not happy as their view has changed from a garden out look to a large wall. I mentioned they could take over the mortgage and do what they want with it, they refused.
The side neighbours are never happy, so f*** them. I have had them involved through the whole process, they didn't like anything I was doing.

The neighbors will be happy when the second level goes on.
Just paint F off on the wall facing the neighbour, I done this when I replaced a fence at our house in QLD and the neighbour refused to pay half of the cost. It was my fence and I painted what I wanted onto the back of it. It's still on there as the fence is on my property not the boundary line and they cant touch it. They tried growing some bushes in front of it but some weed killer must have seeped through from my side. They have since offered to pay half but I refused to accept it unless they also paid to move the fence to the boundary line.
I hate suburban neighbours and their petty whinging we now live on a property in the West with our closest neighbour 200mt away which is still too close for my liking.
