One hurdle jumped
Well I took my car to the MVR this morning to start the approval side of things for rego.
Emissions test - Passed
Brake test - Passed
Noise test - Passed
Roadworthy inspection - Passed
Then it went on the scales, 520kg front axle - 600kg rear axle (half tank of fuel) - 1120kg in rego trim.
I have contacted engineer in Darwin - he is out of the office at the moment but will call me this arvo to let me know what day next week to buy his plane tickets.
Getting closer now

Just spoke to the engineer, he is flying down on Saturday 23rd and is making it an extended holiday for him and his family.
We have agreed on a price (basically his normal charge plus cost for his plane ticket on the day).
So now David is a happy camper.
Fingers crossed it might all happen before my birthday.

Great David! Each step is a relief, no matter how much we prepare.

That's great news Dave. Congratulations again.
I'm off to Engineering at Oran Park Raceway this coming Thursday the 21st. Only one thing can stuff me up.... The weather... If it's wet, they can't do the Brake Test and it will have to be postponed for another day at another unknown location. Oran Park closes completely next weekend so I need fine weather. If you've got any up your way Dave, send it down here... PLEASE.....
Regards and well done again.

Good luck Baz. You have worked so hard for that process there in NSW and they seem to work equally hard in making it a stressful and pedantic one!
The sun is shining here at Peregian Beach and a Cobra drive is planned - but I am still sending some sun and good fortune down your way!

Thanks Merv,
I've checked the long range weather map and all looks good. Here's hoping.
