Unknown Cobra shell and chassis for sale

I had a guy ask me if I know anyone looking to buy a Cobra shell and chassis.
He has no idea what kit it is, neither do I?

So please check the attached pictures, and if you know what brand it is please advise, or if you are keen on talking to the owner, please let me know.
It has no doors, boot lid or bonnet.
And no paperwork.

I was going to say an ARNTZ but the chassis wasn't like that.

The fuel filler is on the other side also and there is a funny ridge along the back of the cock-pit (seen in the bottom body photo).

Looks like the way it has been sitting is not ideal for maintaining the body shape.

Could be a Stylecraft Body??? Chassis looks like an attempt at building a chassis then realising just what's involved then packing it all up to the back of the shed!!

The chassis sits under the body very well, there are raised sections through the floor for the "K" part of the chassis.

Defining features I noticed on teh body are.
The raised lip around rear of cockpit (I have read that Arntz had this?)
The fuel filler in left rear quarter.
The rear firewall does not go all the way up to the rear turrent (there is about a 12 inch gap open to the boot area)
The floor has raised sections for chassis
The rear firewall/bulkhead is angled at about 45 degrees from the floor up.
The boot area is very deep (suspect fuel tank is designed to sit in the boot rather than under)
Front firewall extends forward into engine bay approx 8 inches before going down.

DRB also has the fuel filler on that side but thats about the only thing similar. The body may have been copied from a DRB?

This is a pic of the ARNTZ...no funny lip at the back of the cockpit. The chassis is inadequate but far better than the one shown above.

Does anyone else have any idea what it may be?
The guy has some other cars that I want to talk to him about, but I would like to try and help him with this before I ask about the others.

Again I would put the body up as a STYLECRAFT ...I bought one 15+ yrs ago had the filler on left side and the lip on rear and from memory boot inner and firewall were similar........body was way out of wack so i moved it on to some other poor soul

...was in grey primer!!

Thanks Oz, in your first reply I thought you where taking a bit of a guess, but it looks like it is a fairly informed guess.

So thanks for that, I will do some searching now and see what I can find.

Ok, the only stylecraft I could find on the net (that I thought migt be related) is a boat shop in Melbourne.
I rang them and they do not build boats (or cars) they are an agent for a US supplier.

So Oz, or anyone else, can I get some leads on how to contact the supplier?
I will keep searching but not much is coming up in Google.

Hmmmm, you know, it looks like the body is missing a hood. I wonder if "soulman", who just happens to have a couple of free hoods, knows more than he's tellin'?

G'day Dave.

I'm actually wondering if the body is in fact an Arntz also. Wasn't the Arntz/Bennett/Butler renowned for having an engine that was way back in the chassis, almost mid engined?

Here's a pic I'd pinched from the gallery of "nevermind65" showing an Arntz engine bay.

If that was the case, then the pics you've posted as per your description have a firewall that is very far forward, unlike the majority of manufacturers out there. I'd imagine the donk would undoubtedly be well over the front axle line in the mystery kit.

Thanks Steve, you are right, that engine bay is different.

I am still chasing StyleCraft as a possibility.
