Has anyone claimed ownership. I've seen this car before possibly at a NSW event. Those brass letters were the giveaway, something you'd never forget. If it was an alloy body, then why go to all that expense , it would't be cheap, and then put your house name on the doors and add in an auto box? If there was a fire why not show a photo of the damage

Anyone go and have a look in the flesh and work out what it was? I watched the auction live on the net and I think it went for $20.000. The winning bidder was on site so I guess the body wasnt too badly damaged. I spoke to them during the week and apart from telling me they couldn't find any sign of a compliance plate and that it was a 302 ford (painted in chebby orange?) they weren't particularly helpful.

cheers

I was talking to the previous owner at the NSW breakfast this morning. Its a glass Dax body on a Toyota Crown chassis.
5 lt HO motor with lots of burnt wiring.

A Crown Chassis will require an engineers report and a beaming and torsion report. When I was looking to buy/build my engineer said "STAY AWAY" from the crown chassis set up. I did.

Its been registered before and was auctioned as a repairable write off. I don't think it would need beaming or torsion tests as it already has a vin.

I thought the buyer was suffering a touch of 'buyers regret' on the car that was in the Pickles' auction, but on second thoughts I think it is a different car, anyway here is a fire damaged car on ebay.

That looks very much like the same car that was sold for $20,000 at the auction, can just make out the letters on the door trims.

Well thats what I was thinking but I thought the motor was orange in the Pickles' auction and there's definately a bit o' blue poking through on this one.
