I have heard all sorts of time frames in Vic, rangeing from 1 month to 3 months.
Have you been in contact with your engineer, as I think he is the person who chasses it in Vic.
Different system up here, I can get a Vin over the phone. (but that is not really what you want to hear, sorry)

Same in QLD - just a matter of lodging the paper work with the local constabulary. Three days in my case. All done before engineering.

Mine was lodged around 20 Dec 08 and Bernie rang me about the first week in Feb 09. I think it was about 6 weeks all up (and this was during XMAS) so not too shabby I thought. Bernie had told me the previous one took 3 months.

Benny

Chase Bernie, he can at least stir the Vicroads pot and see what the hold up is as 10 weeks is a fair old stint. If I remember rightly mine was about 6 weeks.

Good luck.

Steve

10 Weeks... a familiar number ...I waited that long and my engineer was going down to the Sydney RTA to do other business so he decided to find out why the vin was taking so long.
It had been approved within two weeks then traveled between two in/out boxes and offices for a further 8 weeks. Get your engineer to do a subtle inquiry as to its whereabouts !

Also Ben. A tip I used from Aussie Mike. Book your inspection with vic roads for first thing in the mornig i.e. 8:30am. Costs a couple of bucks but worth it as otherwise you have to stand in line for a while.

I was done by about 8:45.

About a week for me, it's up to your engineer to push it through. One of my engineer's good points.

Took me almost 12 weeks in QLD. Some inspection stations schedule one day each week for 'special' inspections.
