Hi Greg,
I have struts on my CR but they are actually attached to the hinge metalwork and push the hinge brackets up - I can post a pic if you wish.

I am sure you are right Warren.. I had some struts but felt that they were just too strong. Will investigate further.
Cheers

Thanks 2 G's Gregg
A pic or 2 would be great. Every little idea helps when trying to fathom out the options

These two pics are from the manual but they are exactly how I have mine done. Works well. I dont know the ratings on the struts, let me know if you want to know them.

Ahh so thats how CR do it.
I'll see if i can adapt this for the Harrison, for a start the hinges are tubular.
The pressure would be great if you could, maybe there's a Newton Metre (NM) number printed on them.
Thanks

Keep in mind that they might get in the way a bit if they're mounted IN the boot, rather than how Geof or myself have them mounted.....not saying it's definitely better...but it MIGHT be.
The bonnet ones look fine either way.
Cheers,
Warren.

You're right Wazza, they do get in the way a little bit, but my boot is quite deep so they are not too much of a hassle (yet).
The bonnet location is good as it allows unrestricted access to the engine bay without a strut getting in your way.
