The guys got a lot of the frame put up on Friday. It's starting to look like something now.

They are bringing a scissor lift on Monday to lift the center gables up and do the roof purlons. All the sheeting was delivered on Friday too.

That's fine with me.

When we first moved in I tried mowing the lawn with my old hand mower. It was a hot day and I got a 3 meter wide strip mowed around the whole back yard before I near collapsed. Several cold drinks and a rest on the couch later I went and hooked up the trailer, drove down to the mower shop and bought a ride on. The ride on is a great way to mow, almost therapeutic as you steer your way round the yard. It's even got a built in stubby holder.

Lucky bugga Mike, I have shed envy big time (victim of suburbia), you could leave the middle clear and park 8 toys, one in each bay bit like a horse stable :P

Nice one Mike.

Interesting to see the structure going up before the slab.

We put the slab down first, with a few piers to stop it sliding down the hill.

Now its all for sale as SWMBO wants to move closer to the kids school

Had to laugh at your comment about ride on's. Did exactly the same thing They must sell a shed load during summer.

Cheers

This is a long time dream for me Andy. It's pretty cool to see it taking shape.

Great looking shed Krait. It's a shame you have to move away from it. I hope you have some decent shed options at the new place.

I thought about doing the slab first and then building the frame, there are some definite pluses going that way. However I decided on building the frame and then pouring the slab for a couple of reasons, the main one being you get a good seal around the bottom edge of the sheeting. The other is that you don't have any bolts or plates exposed at the bottom of the columns. The way they build these the concrete covers them. It all makes for a neater finish inside. The other thing on my mind was the winter weather starting to set in. If my nice new slab got rained on I would be pretty upset.

Cobber, that mower is awesome!! What did it start as before getting the Cobber custom treatment? I almost think we need a separate ride on mower thread.

I bought a Husqvarna 1842 and they threw in a tipping trailer and a matching chainsaw. I looked at the price of 2nd hand Husqvarnas for quite a while and they weren't much less than what I paid new. They seem hold their value well.

Cheers

Mike the mower is a 18hp 50" cut Husky, I would say it's about 10 years old now and has been faultless. I wanted to test out the colours for the cobra and the mower needed a freshen up.

Keep us posted on the shed, I'm taking notes for my next shed too. I like the look of the American barns but the internal posts might get in the way?

Doing it hard at the moment. I have clocked up more frequent flyer miles in the last month than you Mike.

Not one car event apart from watching Ferraris race up and down the Mont Parnesse and Rue de Virgard in Paris here. Two young guys doing a run down a section of road similiar to the Lygon Street area.. Open Ferrari exhaust just sound so good between shops and cafes..

Promised Anne a no car holiday - damn she has hammered the card though..

Had a week in LAX then onto Palm Springs where I caught up with Mulv - Mmmm very little car talk but did visit two yards and dealers whom had some nice early Vettes.

Then onto Florida and tried to get to one event but was hijacked to the shops again.

We were lucky in New York as our Hotel the Portland was actually locked down with the bomb incident last night. But we were out and watching it all from Paris. The Portland on 47th Street West is about 100 metres from the sight at Times Square.

To think we were worried about getting into Heathrow and Charles De Gaulle due to ash from the volcano. Been a fun trip that way..

Had a nice break with Anne though seriously..

Looking forward to getting back and doing some more work on the GT40.

Cheers

Bernie

Sounds like you've been having a real adventure lately Bernie.

I haven't been OS for a month or two now which is nice. A lot of my work has been up in Thailand lately and with the political unrest I've been staying away.

Cheers

Aussie Mike

Anne argues that the devaluation of the Euro due to Greece has given her a new lease..

No a well overdue break.

Good to see all going well there with the new property. Talk soon.

Things are really starting to take shape now. Most of the frame is up. This morning they installed the roller doors. The door in the center bay is a 3M wide by 3.5M high opening so I can get a truck in there.

The wind was really picking up this morning (we are on the top of a hill) so I don't think they will have got much done today.

Cheers

Yep, a 2 post clear floor jobbie in the middle bay. Enough height there to even lift my Land Rover up.

Cheers
