Yeah, I was thinkin' a that when I was writing that post. I have been to Australia seven times and I learned of the term on my first trip.
I was so impressed with the car guys in Australia. They really really care about their cars. When I got back I went on the forum here on Club Cobra and asked Brent Mills if he would consider a forum for Australia. The rest is history. I was made an Honorary Aussie for that and I'm proud of if too. I hope more of the CC members can go there and they will see what a neat place it is. As my good friend Jay Nordstom says "It's always about the people". He is spot on too.

Dave,
Could you scout around for me and see if there are any deep water fronts available around Alice with a nice pontoon where I can moor my 56 foot Bertram. I need a large 6 bedroom home with a 6 car garage, 30 x 15 metre x 8 metre high shed with two twin post hydraulic jacks and a fully tiled pool with elevated spa finished in marble next to the heliport which I can pick up at a reasonable price and preferably not on the Todd River.
I am thinking of moving up there. It sounds like Cobra rego might be a little easier in the Territory than in NSW.
Let me know how you get on.

Nothing wrong with the Todd River....all the SHARKS are in NSW you'll only have to worry about the occasional 5 metre Salty!!!

You will need to look in Darwin for water frontage.
Talking about the other stuff though, I am currently pricing a shed 12x16, I think I will go with the "portal" style as opposed to Aussie Mikes Barn, it comes in cheaper to purchase, cheaper to errect and much cheaper on slab (less footings) and there are no poles in the middle.
Also just priced a 4.2 tonne gantry style hoist from Radium $3500 landed on my doorstep in Alice.
The house is 5 bedrooms, no helipad but plenty of room for 1, also no pool (had 1 at last house and never used it), but the property used to be a Yabbie farm many years ago, apparently it failed because all the yabbies walked accross the road and moved into the swamp. Go figure
So you can buy my place if ya like.
$750,000.00 and I will even throw in the tractor.
Sweeping views of mountain ranges, 7 acres of land, fully fenced, horse stables included.

You blokes are really quick. I thought that I was the only one on here that doesn't work and spends most of his time on the Forum.
Dave... I have been to the Alice and a couple of occasions and am really familiar with the terrain. Look up a local bloke by the name of Bruce Hancock who drives one of the school buses up there and give him my regards.
I was just having another go. You should know my weird sense of humour by now. It's the only thing that keeps me sane.

Here ya go Baz, found the perfect place for ya.
http://www.globalcollab.org/Nautilus....annotated.JPG
Heli pad, prolly even an airfield, swimming pool, place for the bertram during the wet season, only 20Klm to the big smoke, and I'd bet the fastest internet connection in Oz.
You could even seek retribution against any NSW authorities you fancied from there. Just call in some secret Laser guided thingamejig from one of the sats.
The place even has an exotic name ... Pine Gap.

Ahhh the Alien farm, or is it the Submarine base? - You do know that the subs come up and under using the great artesian sea, they refuel here after doing laps of Antarctica.

There ya go, another selling feature ... endless fuel for the Bertram.
If it was in Queensland it would be on the market, Baz would get it at a steal.
Anna Bligh has all our other assets for sale.

A "steal"? Now I heard that 'our' Anna has Redcliffe/Clontarf pencilled in as a future prison site?

Gawd, that'd be right Merv. Good for me as Corrective Services are one of my clients. Close to work and all that.
Did ya hear about the sewage treatment plant being planned for the Sunny Coast?. Seems the planned population growth will outstrip their water supply.
Shame really, it was not too bad a place ......... once

Hey Baz, I was having a quick flick through eBay and found this.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/200W-12-VOLT-...item335def65a7
Could be what you need for demister, I am sure with a little fibre glass it woul dbe easy enough to make 2 outlets for flexable hose.

I obtained a 1.5 metre length of 40mm poly pool pipe and cut it in half, two 40mm poly end caps which I glued onto each end of each of the cut lengths, a 40mm poly T joint which I glued into the centre and joined both halves of the 40mm pipe together, and a 90 degree poly elbow which I glued into the bottom of the T joint.
I then made a template depicting the curvature of the dash, then using a jigsaw, cut the assembled 1.5 metre long setup in half along its entire length. I then used a heatgun to bend the setup into the curvature of the template.
When I've finished cleaning up the edges, I will remove the dash/consul etc., and urathane/clamp the setup up under the dash.
The demister slits are already in the dash with nice polished stainless steel covers on top. I'm quite happy how it looks at the moment and just hope it works.
The heater with flexible 38mm hose is already fitted in the top of the nearside foot well and the hose. The other end just hangs up in the dash to give the driver some heat. This is the end that will attach to the 90 degree elbow coming out of the demister I made.
Thanks again for your help.
Baz
Here are the pics I promised of my Home Made Demister:-

I'm not going to all the trouble of dismantling the car at this particular time as I still haven't heard from the RTA on what it is specifically that they require me to rectify. It's only been 4 weeks tomorrow since they inspected my car so I can't expect miracles.
Just to install the demisters, I have to remove the steering wheel / blinker stalks / column key lock / dash / consul / hi fi unit & internal rear vision mirror. I just thought it might be a good little project to get things ready as nothing will be done for the next two months after I have my surgery.
The RTA have had my papers for almost 3 months now. What great customer service we tax payers get.
