Thumbs up Cobra meet at race winning Top Fuel team workshop.

G'day all.

Here's some pics I'd taken of yesterday's Cobra cruise and meet at Santo & Louie Rapisarda's Top Fuel workshop.

A huge thank you to Santo and his highly professional team for letting us prod, poke, sit in and listen to and watch his racing operation in full swing.

Also an extra special tank you for Stef for organising such a great event.

The best news is that we've been invited back for a BBQ and workshop gathering every couple of months.

So for any of you NSW boys, or out of state for that matter, there are further opportunities to watch a top flight drag racing up close do their stuff!

Here's some pics for y'all to check out.

These driving pics were taken on the way to and from the event. I've got to say, it was pretty tough taking these pics once strapped into Stef's beast!

Default Great pics Stephen!

Yeah, what a hugely successful day it was! Thanks to everybody that showed up.

Yesterday was a very special day for all of us, we were treated to Don "The Snake" Prudholmes' ex Funny car being started (Twice) for the first time on Australian soil for the Cobra Club! Nice timing!

We were treated to another Top Fueller getting a shakedown and Santo cooked for all of us, he's such an entertainer!

Santo, Gus and I will be planning an even bigger event at a later date, a great way to get up close and personal for those of you that haven't had the pleasure!

Once again, thankyou all.

ps: Pete, you look a little squished in that seat!!

Stef

Great pics, it would be good to show up to transport in one of those and say I'm here to register my car.

Thanks for sharing your day with us.

G'day all.

Thanks for the great comments, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the pics.

Hopefully this thread will get resurrected every couple of months when the upcoming workshop visits come about.

I'm sure that Stef will keep us all informed and do his best to get as many of the Cobra guys and gals involved with the next visit.

Pete, silly me, I got the impression you were packing a spare just in case a tyre blew!

Here's a bunch of pics I'd taken at yesterday's test & tune @ WSID yesterday.

This my first attempt at drag racing photography, with some mixed results. It was really a day of figuring out what shutter speeds, apertures and ISO worked best ...given the ever changing weather conditions, how quick the cars were and worst of all fading light.

After taking a few shots from the general public seating locations, I was lucky enough to be given a VIP crew/visitor pass from the Rapisarda team, which allowed me to spend the rest of the afternoon within a guest area behind the start line, hence all of my rear end images.

Unfortunately the main reason for my being there didn't eventuate, with the Rapisarda owned, ex Don Prudohmme Funny car experiencing ignition dramas ahead of it's only attempted run of the day. So it was a no go for the debut run of this beast in OZ.

Enjoy!

Steve.

Here's the Rapisarda crew hard at work.

Some great shots Stephen! Tortured tyres there. That is the thing about photographs - there are some you take as a matter of record of an event or moment, but in every 100 or so there is one that really pleases the eye. You have quite a few of those.
