Default 540 Update - Another Step Closer

Visited the engineer Thursday, everything went well. Now I have to sit and wait about 3 months until it gets its final inspection by Qld Transport.

Hey WKB,

Great looking car. I take delivery of my 540 kit this week (chassis #34), and so I'm about to experience the highs and lows of building a kit car! As I progress I would appreciate so tips on the traps to avoid. I'm just down the road from you, so may try and contact you via Peter atDRB of via a pm, if that's ok with you. I have my eye on a fpv gt at auction this week, and hopefully the price will be reasonable, or I'll just have wait a little bit longer! Cheers. Chucky

Hi Chucky,
Congradulations on your choice. You will find that this car is one of the easist kits to build that is presently available from any manufacture in Australia.

I saw that GT on the auction site. Looks like the damage might have missed the parts you need, if not the parts from the wreckers are reasonably priced.
PM me your phone number and I can give you a call if you want.

If your attending the Cobra Club meeting at Hope Island this weekend I will be in the 540. If you are not a member PM Wazza(Qld Cobra Club president) on this site and I am sure he will give you the information about membership.

Warren

Thanks Warren.

I cant make the Hope Island meet this week, but I will try for the next one. By the way, I managed to get then FPV vehicle as a donor today, damage is minor, with all of the running gear looking in good order. Luckily the engine turns out to be a rare boss 302!

Cheers. Charles

WKB,
The car looks great. Reminds me of how TVR may have upgraded their Griffith model had they still been in business.
