Yea, come on Liam build the frame, I know you'll have a go anyway!
Hopefully it will be perfect and that's another item you put on my shopping list.

Jamie, its all systems go. I have got the glass and bought some rubber channel and some other bits to make the bottom rubber. All ready to go, just finishing some other half finished things before i start on the frame. I hung the doors today and got set up to mount the inner guards to the chassis tomorrow.

Ive been roped in to helping my sister move tomorrow so might have to wait till next weekend to get started.

Novus are fitting my glass tomorrow for $285. Spoke to O'Briens and they can supply the glass for $139 or fit/supply for $598 - apparently because "it's a fiddly job" - WTF??

Paul

Make sure Novus makes check outs in the glass where your fitting screws might protrude intothe glass to avoid cracking.

I watched this fiddly-ness as O'Briens replaced my first cracked screen having to notch out these screw areas about three years ago.

However under Shannons insurance one screen a year replacement is free so it was a no cost exercise worth about $300 back then.

Slowy, I spoke to Max at Novus in Mitcham (has done a few screens for Doug Pearce) and he fits a 5mm foam spacer around the glass before applying the goo. He checks the screw lengths and says generally they're not a problem. I test fitted mine and the screws just go through the brass elbows at the corners, no further, so I should be right.

My wiper motor just arrived - anyone know where to get the lucas 5 pin plug locally?

I'm keen to find one too! Let me know if you locate a source. I was just going to solder tails onto the tags and run them into a more generic connector.

Cheers

Don, snake bite for the connector.

I am sure I bought mine from him years ago.

A good cheap option for wipers is sourcing a triumph set up. I got the full kit with 2sp motor, wipers, cable and switch for about $40 off ebay. The arms are stainless so can be polished. I need to shorten the part the blades mount to but its very simple to do. Much cheaper than the hundreds of dollars that are charged for new parts.

There you go Paul they are adding a spacer by a simpler means but there is still some space provided.

Trying to recall where I sourced my plug, may have been from the mini place out in reservoir where I sourced most of the wiper kit in one hit.

I presume you are able to go two wipers now? I think I was able to as well but it was something Bernie "forgot" or conveniently didn't mention until engineering when he quipped oh you don't need three now - Duh

When I spoke to Enkelmans earlier in the year I was advised to go with 3 Slowy.

Can someone with a 3 wiper setup please tell me how long the wiper arms are? 11 inch?

I bought early landrover wiper arms - new and cheap. The length didn't matter because they were adjustable.

Update: these screens are about 12mm wider than a Harrison (or at least mine) can accommodate. We're modifying the side mounts just below the body line and everything should be OK after that. Worth checking your measurements before ordering though.

Sambo, I would not be suprised if all manufacturers (kit suppliers) make the mounting area smaller than the screen gaps.
When I was building mine, I fitted the body central on chassis, then mounted the dash brace to the chassis and found that when I cut my holes for screen legs, that there was a gap on either side.
From memory I had to make a 12mm spacer on R/H side and a 16mm spacer on L/H side to get screen mounted central.
