This may be a dopey question but where do I find the entry forms for Shelbyfest? I assume cut offs have been and gone?

They have not.

I just sent my first revision of the Entry Form to our Club President (Tony) on Friday.

He is expecting to send them round to the various state club very soon

Default Getting Ready for ShelbyFest 2011

Hi All,

I have been a spectator for the last 2 years at ShelbyFest and have taken the plunge and am competing for the first time this year.

Been doing a couple of upgrades to the Cobra lately (safety than performance). Got my helmet and gloves. Havenet gone for a suit yet.

Put in a Battery isolator and a 4 point harness. Picture below.

The new CR Chassis has all of the mounting points for a 4 point harness so it was pretty easy. Also with the quick release fittings it can be easily removed from the car when not in use.

Anyway just a quick request if anyone has a "ShelbyFest Checklist" of the necesary things/tools etc to bring along.

I will be driving my Cobra there and back so no trailer. Have Total Care in case I get stranded.

I am thinking things like the following:

- tool box with most tools
- Spare Coolant
- Spare Oil?
- Jack (and stands?)
- Tyre Pressure guage (I assuming I can borrow someones pump)
- Car Cover
- Chock for wheels so I dont put handbrake on when brakes are hot
- ext lead and lead light
- multimeter
- cable ties
- window cleaner/chamois

Anything else?

thanks

regards

Gregg

Spare undies.

Do you have someone else going that can take all the bits and pieces for you?
If so then your list looks pretty good, if not then maybe ditch the jack and stands as you should be able to beg, steal and borrow if you need them.

Only thing I would add is with your helmet, if it is full face get a decent tinted lens.
Also proper shoes are good, narrower toe and thin sole so you can "feel" the pedals and pedal pressure better.

You will have a ball Gregg.

Unless you ara having a really big go it is unlikely you will need much tools, as Boxhead mentioned there is always some one around who can help.

I drove down from Sydney last year with just a jack, socket set, screwdrivers and cable ties.

You will love giving your car a decent rev!

Default Convoy

Gregg,

Normally yes, it depends on the weather and work.

I trailer the car up in case I/others have an issue and bring the esky's
and tools.

Hey there Guys and Gals.
I wanted to bring this up to the front page and wish all attending a great weekend.
hope your travels to and from are un eventful.

Keep the shiney side up (except in your case Gav, yours is like mine and probably shinier underneath than on top)

For the people like myself who missed out on attending this year I will add, we like pictures, so dont be shy with the camera, Iphone, photobucket, links

I am jealous and kicking myself I am not there, but I really wanted to run up here in the Drags on Saturday night.

It will be close between FantaBoy and Mr Bunnings.

it's predominantly Cobra's (95+%) with a GT40 or two usually.

I will head up Saturday. Less the GT40. Was looking forward to a GT40 drive but still doing a total rebuild..

Leaving Hume highway Campbellfield about 0830. More than likely in the Mustang Convertible as the weather looks good - overcast 21.

Probably from Maccas Campbellfield about 0830
