Default Can someone take a measurement for me?

Hi All,

Im 85% done completing my stainless windscreen frame and i think it might be a little bit too wide.

Any chance someone can throw a tape on the face of there windscreen frame and tell me how wide it is? By wide i mean the width of the polished surface that borders the glass, not the overall width of the frame. Mine is about 25mm but i can quite easily trim it down and it will still fit the glass.

Also what thickness are the standard side mounting brackets? I was planning on making them out of 50mmx5mm stainless flat bar.

Thanks in advance.

Liam

Mine is 20 mm at the top and bottom rails, 15 mm on the side rails (then the posts are extra) and 1/2" thickness.

Great, thanks guys. I think i will shave it down a few mm. I have allowed for 5mm outside the glass to allow room for bolting on sunvisors and side mounts.

Also, the side posts are 40mm at the bottom, tapering down to the 1/2" at the top, they also roll over the top of the frame a bit.
5 mm thickness.

Thanks for that. From looking at pictures and at measurments of the escutcheon plates i thought they were 50mm at the bottom.

In my case with the screen laid back the slot in the plate would need to be 45 mm minimum. Add some clearance and it goes close to 50.

Of course. I had forgotten about that.
