Ok
I'll get started.
I ordered a Wide body (Gulf rear clipped) GT40 from DRB, was pretty easy just paid a 5k deposit and the balance when the car was ready for delivery.
The car cost approx 2.5k to freight to WA and took about 2 weeks. DRB fit forklift access gluts under the car so it can be moved and loaded easy.
Here are a few pics of me picking up the car from the freight yard and one before it left DRB.

First job is to cut in all the lights and body fitments. I do it first as it makes the car look like a car and it stops all the fibre dust getting over everything. It's easy to clean this way as well.

After cutting the body in I move onto the suspension.
I fitted the front side panels (pre cut and marked by DRB). I then polished the front Corvette C4 suspension arms, I also fitted new bushes and ball joints while at it. The front end I got from Ebay in the States and the balljoints are from Ecklers.
Fitted up the front suspension with QA1 shocks ,350 pound springs.

Couldnt even wait to get it off the trailer I see.
The polished Corvette stuff looks good, might be a good donor option.

I generally build the car up to a roller on the trailer, it's a good height to work at and there is no need toget under a GT40.
Next job is to fit the windscreen wiper components, I fit them early as they are a bugger to get to when the dash and steering cross beams are in.
I use a VB commodore wiper motor (Lucas) and I use a switch from Ron Francis wiring in the States to operate it.
You fit the steering column cross beam to the chassis with the AC evap fitted. You actually cut holes in the cross beam and this distributes the cold air the different vents. The thing about this set up is you don't have 2inch pipes crawling behind your dash everywhere.
Fitted front brake rotors and and knock off hubs.

Gtforty!
I enjoy build pics... Nice to see.
Your sure have quite an array of cars there in WA mate... Give us some feedback on how you've gone with the respective dealers etc??? Who sells DRB in WA?
I know from my own experience dealing with companies OS or interstate can present its own series of challenges!

Hi Bernie this is a new car #103 started March 2010. It's a gulf clip black gelcoat car.

No the DRB GT40 runs a full Corvette C4 alloy suspension set up. The factory fit all the brackets and the car is designed for it.

The DRB WA dealer is a great bloke and very hansom I might add. No I am the WA dealer in sorts, It's more of a come over to my house and if you like what you see then you fly over to the factory for more info. I don't advertise or push DRB's cars (I have a G-Force Cobra as well). I built a FFR Daytona Coupe last year ( I have a full build thread on that with RHD conversion pics and what was required to get it registered) and have plans to build an Ultima next (still looking for people for a possible group buy?) then maybe an Westfield XTR... I am a loyal customer to DRB and have never ever had a problem with getting what I paid for or delivery of products. This build thread was never intended to be an advertisement for DRB but just something I thought you Guys might be interested in seeing how ones goes togehtor.

Ok next on the list was to paint the steering cross beam (check the holes for the vents.
Next I did not like the look of the raw fibreglass roof spider, most people make a board that glue trim to. I wanted a more of an alloy race type looking interior so i fitted and formed an alloy roof sheet which I Sika flexed into place I also formed alloy cover panels for the a pillars.
Next job is the door handles, again DRB use a Mitsubishi or similar inner door handle but I wanted something that looked like the orginal. So I made some inner door handles from bits of alloy laying around in the shed. I fitted the outer door handles but instead of using the alloy DRB items i used the stainless polished items from the States. The great thing about DRB is that they use BA/BF door locking mechanisms, this good because firstly there is no issues with ADR's and safety but they have central locking motors built in. They work with a generic C/L immobiliser with reverse switching relays.
Not needed but nice to be able to walk away from the car and know the doors are locked.

On to the dash fitment.
The dash comes blank so it's basically a canvas that you make your own.
DRB have 2 options for the dash, speedo and tacho togethor in front of the Driver or traditional layout. I choose traditional. I made a cardboard template of how I wanted the dash to look and pilot drilled all the holes. I have not fitted the warning lights yet. I have fitted the dash to the car and still need to cut out the relief for the steering column.
