I have to congratulate Peter on that terrific panoramic shot with Ballzy's and my cars front and centre; class all the way hey Ballzy??!!!
Also, I noticed on the day that the first six cars in the line up were all different colours; silver-grey black green red yellow and blue. That doesn't happen often. Our very own little rainbow collection.
What a great day it was, and what a way to welcome Wazza's beautiful new car to the club! It looks sensational and even travelling three cars behind it, the sound of that mighty LS7 bellowing along the mountain-top roads sure was something to hear. I hope those poor old mooies at the dairy farm were able to let down their milk for the afternoon milking. Scary to think the LS7 hasn't freed up fully yet and is still to be tuned properly. Can't wait for the next run!
And yeah Muz, Craig and I copped some rain on the way home too---but who cares? Did I say what a great day it was?

...and on that point, good on you for driving the Cobra down. I understand when racing is the focus, it makes sense to fit race tyres, stiffen the suspension to race settings and tow cars to the event, but it's pretty damn cool to see a top shelf car being used as a long distance driver.

I thought I'd have the new grey Cobra ready to take to the 2009 nationals...
then it was DEFINATELY going to be ready for the 2010...
then the 2011 Nationals came and went....
along with the 2012 Nationals....
So...after all that...I HAD to drive it down there this year.
I used to love driving the Cobra (the Bumblebee) to the Nats, driving the arse off it all weekend, and packing it up and driving it home again,
So just driving the new one there and back is no biggy.
And, yes...Ronny "the butler" Ford will again get the chance to beat me in my own car..but he has the job of towing it.(the race car)
He pretends like he's holding back each time to be polite to the owner of the car, but last year when he managed a 1m 5.80s lap, against my best of a
1m 5.97s lap there was "crowing a plenty".
I'm certainly still hearing about the MASSIVE thrashing he handed out...and my argument that 17/100ths is not a lot , gets laughed down...he points out that 17 anythings...is a big number!!
We'll swap around a bit on the trip down to Goulburn...his brand new luxurious Range Rover is not a bad support vehicle.....and if it starts pissing down like the last 6 years on this trip...it's my turn in the RR.
Not long now.
Cheers

Getting ready for the big run to the Nationals in Goulburn...
Just to make sure it DOESN"T rain...
I've now had a soft top made...picked it up yesterday.
Seems to sit down fairly well.....we'll test it out on the way down I guess.
Cheers,
Warren

Very nice Waz.
That rear window is plenty large enough to give you adequate rear vision. Does it have a zip out/roll down facility for those muggy days with on again off again rain?
Of course you realise that now you have a nice new lid, Murphy will come to the fore and for the first time in living memory the sun will shine brightly for the full duration of the Nats. You can leave your wets at home boys!!!

No side windows....yet.
It has a neat "Rain gutter" built into it, which should stop any water running down the side of the roof, and entering the cabin.
The wind wings do a bit of deflection as well.
We'll see how it goes I guess.
As I said....now that I've pissed around getting the roof fitted...
It won't rain EVER again !!!
Cheers,
Warren.

Queenslanders are all home safe (yesterday)...
Enjoyed driving the Cobra down there..(about 2,400 klms round trip)
The car was clean after the first 800 klms ( day 1)..when we got to Raymonds Terrace,
But...next day we got hit by a storm, with some hail thrown in for good measure...and the car was a "Brown mess" when we arrived.
I managed to get most of the crap off..and was very happy to score a trophy.
Thanks again to everyone involved in the Nats...and thanks for the very kind comments about the car....very much appreciated.
Huge thanks to Scotty Hampson for his excellent work on the car.
Regards,
Warren

The Harrison Body certainly looks good. Tribute for the amount of work that must've gone in to it. Congrats for the Show and Shine trophy.
