Based on the name I thought for a moment this was a cross between a Coyote and a Toyota!

Very neat engine bay.

That's the one I would be building now if I was just starting! Traditional Ford motor connection, all emissions covered, heaps of power and it looks just great!

The 5.0 "Coyote" is not a "Mod" motor but the first of a totally different family. It only shares some dimensions, bore spacing, etc. that allows existing tooling to be used.

This has the potential to be the next "small block Ford" in that it allows lots of upgrades and fits a lot of applications.

Good times to be had.......

I also like the lack of bling on the Superformance. The black wheel centres, the mirrors, side pipes and so on. Looks very mean. Are those mirrors painted black or carbon?

Absolutely...designed to replace with minimal differences but still not a "Mod"

Technically your right not a mod motor.
Ford has it listed as a mod motor in the ffrp catalouge, pages 63-67, they include the coyote.

I'm with Merv, thats the engine I'd install if I were building today. The only thing I think needs changing are the rocker covers and the intake manifold. Relocate the coils, install nice rocker covers and install an 8 throttlebody setup and you've got the best setup possible. Nearly makes me want to start again!

Regards.

As Mando says the induction tubes and fake rocker covers, coil packs, etc would have to go .... but the Ford Cobra connection is now a choice again for many, where it wasn't before.

I am going have to get those blacked out chrome mirrors!

Is it a similar external size to the modular 5.4 motors? If so no more viable then they are - and that isnt very viable (or easy at least) in most(??) Aussie kits.

It seems to fit fine.

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/coyot...dster/#3791535

At least as well as other motors here do. If I was building Cobras here I would be adjusting my chassis and mounts to suit anyway.

Looks like GM/Holden may have an answer.

http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-new...218-1ayxg.html

"The new engine tipped to be fitted to HSV's new range by 2013 is expected to be based on the engine in the wild Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that was unveiled at the Chicago motor show.

With 410kW of power the new supercharged 6.2-litre V8 delivers 26 per cent more power (85kW) than HSV's most powerful cars on sale, the GTS and Grange, and almost 10 per cent more than the most powerful Australian-made car ever, HSV's limited edition W427."
