Chris,
I'll be there and if its anything like our DECCA runs there should be at least a dozen Cobras there. This is the first time the club has had an official meet at this track. Other Cobra owners that have been to Heathcote Park say that the facilities are quite good.
Regards,
Bryan

Hi Guys,
I think I should be able to make it to Heathcote this Sunday. With the horrific hapenings in the US on Tuesday I've put my trip back a few weeks till things settle down.
It would be a good chance to meet some other Cobra enthusiasts and see some good racing.
Chris, let me know what time you plan to go and I'll follow you up there.
cheers

I'm with Alvin here - inquiring minds want to know!
The last group of Cobras that went to Willowbank in Qld, the quickest speed was apparenty 125mph. Time was low 12s, so with traction that's one serious street car (and rowing through the gears of a Tremec 5 speed, too)
One guy up here built a stroker 378 cube 4V headed cleveland with billet rods, JE pistons, BG carb, Gonzo exhaust etc. It ran 11.1 seconds @ 126mph --- BACKWARDS!!!! At about 3/4 track, the car veered out of control and actually backed through the timing beams. Unfortunately, it also hit the wall about 50 metres past the finish line, doing extensive damage. Driver was uninjured thankfully.

Alvin,
I'm not sure of the others that attended Heathcote as to what their times were but I had a ball and the Cobra ran strong all day.
My best ET was 12.3237 seconds and my best terminal speed was 129.42 MPH. My first run was the best and was unable to better it all day.
Regards,
Bryan

Fella's
Unfortunately, I was nobbled by a flu riddled family and had to abort this time,I was ok, they were not. I did get to Mcdonalds at 8;00 am in Broadmeadows but didn't see anyone, did anyone gather at a Mcdonalds or was I at the wrong one. Those bacon and egg Mcmuffins were allright though.

Bryan, what are your engine specs now? I had a look at your website, but it still shows a cast head 351W with a Performer manifold and a 600 Holley. Somehow, I can't see that motor running 129+mph
Do you still have the manual trans in there?
129+mph ---- geez that's a good speed!!!
Do you have the time slip? If so, what were your 60ft, 660ft time/speed, 1000ft etc. I'm not doubting your time, I'm just interested to see how much mph you picked up in the last 660ft.
Congratulations on your results,
Craig

Chris, that's what happens when you live in Melbourne! Maybe you should move your family to sunny, flu-free Queensland

Another Flu victim
Hi Chris,
I was knocked out with the Flu as well and spent most of Sunday in bed. I still wish I could have gone though.
Brian, Who had the quickest and fastest Cobra on the day?
Cheers

Thanks for the timeslip numbers. Are there any 660ft speeds listed? And about that motor, what's in there now?
