Default Picnic at Hanging Rock

We are planning to head this massive (2500 cars on display) event togeather so the first meeting point is at the Caltex Service Station at 256 Kingsway (cnr Banks St) South Melbourne. This is on the inbound side of Kingsway, from there we will head onto City link over the Bolte Bridge and out along the Tulla freeway to the Calder on on to Woodend.

At the same time another group will meet at the Greenbrough end of the Western Ring Road, head along the Western Ring Road and on to the Calder.

The plan is for both groups to hook up on the Calder freeway. Lets see how that works.

Both groups will leave at 6.00am sharp.

We will then meet up at Bourkies Bake House 115 High Street Woodend. We plan to arrive just after 7.00am.

The gates open for display cars at 7.30am and it is only a 5 minute drive from Bourkies.

I would anticipate we leave the bake house nio later than 7.45, giving everyone plenty of time for a coffee and an egg and bacon roll.

Hey AC,
I thought I might come along and introduce myself at the Woodend meeting point?

My little cobra is no where near ready to be on display (it is barely presentable but registered!) but it would be fun to meet some of the Vic club members, considering this is my neck of the woods.

Toecutter, I was welcomed by Vic club members to one of the Winton events a few years ago as an onlooker, so in case you don't get a reply I'd still drop in. Have fun and hopefully the weather clears up guys!

Sounds great Sambo, looking forward to it. It will be nice to get the cobra out of the shed and meet some like minded folk. Hanging Rock is always a fantastic event and thankfully it won't be too hot this year.

Default Hanging Rock

Great to meet so many Cobra enthusiasts on Sunday, thanks for making me feel welcome.

Wow there were a lot of cars there. Perhaps 2500 - 3000? All sorts from finished show cars to rat rods, very well put together cruisers and many classic (and not so classic) standard cars. A fine day out.

I know what your thinking, where are the pics? I got so caught up in the day that I only took a few...
