Default Stripes

Okay Guys,

The time has come the car is off to the painters, The colour is Biscay blue which is a V.W colour more on the darker side of blue.

What I require help with is the colour and type of stripes.

Does anybody have any pictures colours and types of stripes.

I have seen Phil's mural stripes which look fantastic.

Is there any other types of stripes out there ie:-Ghost Stripes, Chrome Stripes, Mural Stripes just anything that is different.

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Rod

Hi Rod, Yes you have one of the toughest decisions to make now that you have picked the colour - what stripes to do.

I went fairly traditional with two big stripes and a pin stripe down the outer edge. But the gap I sed in between the two main stripes is larger than the traditional ones. I like is because it makes them more pronounced. In my gallery if you want a look see.

Good luck choosing, its a bugger of a job.

I do like the ghost stripe approach as my next preference.

Rgds

Gregg

Rod

Get a stripe as I think it helps accentuate the car's shape.

Also you need to specify the slight tapering of the stripes over just parallel. This too is a very subtle affect but again influences the look of the car overall once finished.

But very good luck this is one of those very big tough decisions - you lucky bugga!!

Use teh ERA recomendations regarding stripe.
From memory they are 1 inch wider at the cockpit compared to at the nose/tail

There are lots of cars on this long former thread - some without stripes (obviously I like that 'clean', simpler look) and many with different stripe arrangements. Worth a look through for ideas.

What's the latest cool photo of your car?

Rod,

I almost went ghost flames in the paint, but decided that it would be too much.

Just remember to allow plenty of time to mark out your stripes, I spent 7 hours with my painter to get it to where we were both happy...

Ben

P.S. I guess you are not coming to Shelbyfest!

I have pondered for months on Colour and stripes. The car is now in painting Velocity Red with White Crystal Pearl stripe single centre same diameter as the Cobra Nose badge from Europa spares approx 40m/m dia. I am hoping to make a clear definition of the Colours like here Iam & to hell with delicasies.
Just a thought.

Rod,
I have ghost stripes on mine. Should be some photos in my gallery. I like it much more subtle.

Here's a different take on stripes. I think I've seen something similar on the earlier 289 cars.
