Default Day tripper

Well as you would all be well aware the Shelby Fest is this week end and if you are like me, then you would be very very jealous of all those guys who can find the time to get up to Winton for the whole weekend.
For all you guys who would love to be involved, but don't have the time, I will be running up to Winton on Saturday for the day. Anyone who wants to join me, I will be leaving from the Shell Servo on the corner of Williamsons Rd and Porter St in Templstowe at 0700, heading across the hills to Benella.
I am planning to stop for breakfast on the way. I recon we will get to Winton about 0930 ready for the start of action and plenty of time to see cobra friends from all over country.
Make you own way home when ever you need too, but having done it before it lots of fun and a great way to be involved.
Let me know if you want to join this run.

JB

JB, I plan to drive up Saturday morning in my daily driver. Is a front wheel drive welcome to join the ranks?!

I thoroughly enjoyed looking on a few years ago and with my car approaching engineering this is just what I need to keep the momentum up. I'm also bringing a GoPro Hero HD camera with suction cup and rollbar mounts. Will be looking for someone to grab some footage.

Safe travels to everyone and hope to see you there.

Paul

Front wheel drives must travel at the rear of the pack. I also not with interest that was your 1500th post......you must be congratulated I'm sure there must be a prize for that?

Hi AC302 and others.

Yes - I am planning to go up just for Saturday too.

I am a newbie (joined the club in January and working on the garage first before building my Cobra!).

My plan was to ride my motorbike up, but if anyone is going in their Cobra and has a spare seat, I would LOVE to join them!

In any case, I can meet at the servo in Templestowe at 7AM.

Regards, Guy.

Good work Guy,
Shelbyfest is a really relaxed event where you can get up close and have a good look.

Weather is looking OK, morning shower or 2 then fine and 23c. That is fantastic Cobra driving tempreture. We have a few starters, so should be a fun trip up.
Look forward to seeing you all bright and early in the morning.

Mmmmm missed my prize for the 13,000 post. Easy to get that number if you rate photos whilst sitting in an airport lounge going through members galleries. Think I have only posted about 1000 actual word posts though.

The forecast is ideal - similar to the others with Wangarratta and Benalla also 8 with a high of 23 c..

@AC302 - thank you VERY MUCH for the ride today. As you observed, I WAS just like a kid in a candy shop!

No major failures I was aware of. The orange Cobra hit the wall apparently in practice Friday, but 100-mph tape fixed that. There were one or two others sidelined (the Soliver on Silver Cobra) but I think they have trailers already.

Sorry - don't know who's car is who's yet....
