And, as in Darren's car above - before and after.
Makes you wonder why there can't be another way for kit designers to attach the side of the fibre glass mould to the chassis/space frame. It certainly looks better without the side flange.

Just extend the side down like Rob did and bolt\rivet through the floor - I think it would correct the only significant flaw in the look of the harrison.

my DRB
I thought I was the only one who had the chrome strip. Mine is 50mm x 50mm aluminium bracket which I took to ametal polisher. It is secured underneath with 4 nutserts.

Dang.
So you all just run exhaust under the car.
Removing that nasty, brash, LOUD, and intimidating set of side pipes seems to take away from the overall effect.
Just an observation from the cheap seats.

If we run live side pipes in Victoria, we get pinged. I don't need to point out that if any of our cars need to go back to an engineer or Vicroads it could open up a can of worms....
Like I said, I don't see the point of fake side pipes. They look fake....
I would love to run live side pipes, that would be brilliant, but I'd like to be able to drive my car without having to dodge the coppers in a cold sweat.

It is interesting how the 'stripe and pipe' version has become the icon for Cobras. Most look pretty good with that combo. However, like a few others, I decided to go for the plainer look of the UK version and not run fake pipes. I was concerned that they would attract more attention from the constabulary and also add weight. If I did have pipes they would be the matt black version.

It's each to their own, that's why they're individually constructed vehicles That said I prefer not to have non functional items on cars, especially ones that require cleaning.
Whilst I'm not rapt about the sill being exposed the car has received positive comments including the use of the stainless sill trim.

Hi Boxhead, what would happen if you sold your car to a guy in Melbourne and he went to transfer the car into his name? Would he need to rework the exhaust system to meet Victoria's rules?

I do believe so Mando, as no state will recognise another states exemptions.
When I had mine for sale, the only interested buyer I had was in WA, I did some checking for him, and my car would have passed through there rego no worries, as they to exempt the side pipes.

I'm sure when the new home-state see "ICV" on the transfer papers from the old state, at the very least it would have to go over the pits at the local authority, and quite probably would have to go through local engineering in the new home-state.

The harrison sills have 3/16" pop rivet heads which I didn't like so I have just fitted 2 Mirror Finish S/S angles 35 X 15X 1450 long fixing from below with 1/8" s/s pop rivets with hind sight I would make the sill face dimension closer to 40m/m and the return 12 if your folder can grip down to that size. Iam fitting non active side pipes Polished S/S so the two together balance I think. Make sure if you use S/S trim you use S/S rivets S/S cuts ally rivets like cheese.

I choose to use nutserts to secure the L bracket. Its easy to remove if I need to jack the car up. Which is reasonably often.
Another option would be to paint the strip the same colour as the car or paint it black. Now that I think of it you could have a couple of sets and change them over, they are cheap enough.
