2011 Shannons Sports and Muscle Car Spectacular
Hi all, seeing as though many will still be frothing from the SHELBYFEST I thought I post this up now to see how many interstaters can join us this year?
The event is in June and held over the weekend of the 25th/26th with lots a practice Friday.
Held at: QLD RACEWAY
Featuring Group N touring cars, Trans Am tribute race, Porsche feature race, Shannons Show and shine & super cruise on Sunday. Muscle car sprints, Cobra/GT 40 Challenge. Featuring the Shannons Super Rig. (Jim Richards patron)
Seems ole QLD Towmaster has set the bar high for us to jump! If a 1/2 dozen QLD's can drive to Victoria one would suggest we'd get that many from NSW alone...
Come on Mr Mizzi, Ross Millar and co!!!!
Now where's that photo of ole OzVenom with Fire coming out the bonnet!!!

Keith in brief it's basically sprints with a dozen of us on track etc. It's just a fun event. U can run any tires but a grooved race tyre is best. More info will follow but best keep in touch with Warren b or Peter h from the qld club. The other guys can fill u in more sure spookypt

Sorry for not replying earlier Spooky.
The event is something I would like to do, however I need to do some work on the Cobra, rings and bearings, new diff, flywheel etc.
So it will be in a million pieces at that time.
Phil

I've booked 4 x garages(6 x cars) again this year for RCR.
Fantastic event, can't wait.
Shame Phil & Ben can't make it up here for it.

We had a ball last year, and should be excellent again this year.
Great atmosphere when we all shared the one big garage, and about 400 top cars to watch.
Cheers,
Warren.

Smcs
Going to be a few less faces this year which is sad. Will miss Peter Ransomes GT40 tearing it up amongst others..Will we see the Hatfield Lola this year?Hopefully we can get some good interest from others in the QLD club. Not sure how many have committed as yet???
As usual I have much to do to before I send in my application
- Another new diff to go in. (I'm taking a fully rebuilt spare to this year Nats)
- Engine Dyno
- Crankvase vent install
- Leak down test oil change bla bla bla
- New parts from Wilwood USA to be fitted
- New fuel to be ordered. DONE THAT AT LEAST. BROKE AGAIN!!!
- ++++++
It never ends!!!!

So far we have 5 full double garages. That's 15 cars that people have asked me to book a spot for. We still have 1 double garage booked which is 3 spots remaining in the garages. Let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in attending.

I think this event turned out quite expensive for some----
Plenty of track time --we had a ball
