EFI Connection supplied me all the stuff when I did my conversion:

Looks like they can even supply the extra ECU connector as a pigtail now- you just specify what pins you need wired up.

As for Gav - he flys off the handle all the time when it isnt justified. Hes a bloody lose cannon and should be banned from the forum.

well if you read my LOOOOOONG post then is directly followed by what Mike said then i think you can see a little sarcasim there...

but i chose to ignore it and replied with yes as i think it would help people out there as they feel these looms are great (cough)..

and if i can thank jim for the perception of the business then we can thank GAV for the perception we recieve from cobra forum goers.. is that correct?

I was told by a forum goer only yesterday in a PM not to blanket everyone the same on here so should that not be returned? We may work together , doesnt mean we handle things exactly the same on a forum now does it.

I wouldnt use the pigtail idea unless you can get a decent length on the wires... less joins the better. And would only use that idea if starting with a complete engine loom for the other plugs... either that or buy the plugs/pins and crimpers from there then go for your life... They have all the plugs you will need for a conversion

Guys, i think this is all due to the lack of emotion in typing. Doubledip, your input and experience is valuable to this forum. I think Sideshow has just got a few peoples noses out of joint.

Yes, the poster may be intending his words to be taken one way, or at an entirely different person, but the reader (regardless of who) may well read the words in an entirely different tone and take offence...even when none was intended.....just my two cents worth...from a forum lurker and hopeful future Cobra owner...

I did all my own wiring but I had huge assistance from Rebel 1, Cob07 and Jim (Sideshow) on this Forum. It was a challenge and sense of achievement at the end. However, I was (only) doing a Ford small block with EFI and would not even attempt and LS motor or Ford Coyote, especially if I wanted to activate the traction control or ABS. Too complex for me!

The offer was genuine and not intended to be sarcastic.

I've been on here a long time and I think most who know me would say I'm a fairly genuine sort of person. I don't get into slanging matches on the internet. My philosophy is that a forum is like talking face to face with people and requires the same amount of courtesy and politeness.

Unfortunately it's just words on a screen so they are open to being interpreted differently to what the writer intended even with lots of smiley faces on the page.

"Measure, cut, strip ends, thread on heat shrink, twist, flux, solder, slide heat shrink over, heat, Your Done! "

That's pretty much it but there are a couple of other factors to think about which I'll go into later.

One of the reasons for me to DIY was that living in a rural area there's not many auto sparkies and those that are here are too busy to consider the job.....one guy here refuses to come to the phone, it's like trying to talk to a medico, you gotta get through the door *****.

There was a few times when i thought, "what the hell have I started here" though.

A great challenge for me but worth the perseverence........now if there's a problem I've a good knowledge of where to start looking. As Mike pointed out there's some great resources on the net enabling you to get a handle on the basics, you've just gotta be prepared to sit down and study.......if all else fails ask someone here For all the *****ing that goes on between Jim and the forum members, he is (mostly) helpful!
