another is amerlock which is a basic 2 pack with rubber flex & is in all the colours
we use it for wet plant tables we repair for sand mining company [ wet sand is the most adbersive to any paint surface ] rob

I have made enquiries about powdercoating here and they don't to the thermoplastic type. They suggested just cleaning and priming the metal and using an acrylic flat black. That can be touched up of needed. Will rust treat the interior and prime that too.

I just re read this thread and realized nobody had suggested HPC coatings to you.
HPC - High Performance Coatings
They do a number of colors in both heat proof and appearance coatings that are way tougher than any of the paint products mentioned.
I have personal experience with the exhaust system on my ultralight and my bikes
I had the exhaust coated inside and out over 10 years ago on the plane and they still look new, no rust, and amazingly no scratches or pock marks from stone strikes.
The coating is fired on in a furnace somehow, check them out.
I have the satin black on the bikes, and the satin Cast Iron on the Ultralight
I also had all the bolts on my A9X coated in gloss black when i rebuilt her, looked like black chrome.

I reccon being able to touch up is a good idea, something powder coating may pose a problem with.

Yep you and Craig. That seems to be the way to go at this stage. I think the black HPC would be the best but I would have to send the pipes away and all the hassle of that ... Maybe this is the go?

Toys, ahh Sadly the A9X, went a few years ago to help fund the farm, big regret, The Ultralight will move on shortly, i don't get the time to fly it anymore, but living in the Bunyip State Forest, the trailbikes will be staying.

Pipes all fitted. Relatively subdued look. They were made to fit the extended body. The hoist made the work so much easier. Especially cutting the holes in the body. I don't want to remember what it was like before with lever jacks ...

Mando, after all the too and fro on different coatings, I found that the powder coating guys up here could only do the more rigid form. That would have chipped eventually and would have been harder to touch up. So I did what Shipps did and did lots of metal priming and then a decent satin black acrylic paint. It is interesting how many stones I hear hitting those pipes.
