Default How many kilometres have you done in your Cobra?

I think I already know the winner of this 'event'. But we all have the question asked of us, "How often do you drive it?" So how many k's have you done?

Mine is a puny 9,000.

4400km. Not likely to increase much now as we're back off overseas shortly.

Cheers

Big variations. Dave I thought you would get the gong but Mrs Flatchat seems to have the edge ...

Chris's ( and Yve's ) 200,000 klms over 16 years should have most of us covered.......

I drove my Black/Yellow Cobra almost every day I owned it...couldn't get enough of it....and managed about 140,000 klms in the 6 years I owned it.

(and I've racked up quite a few "Track " Kilometers in the Red Race car)

Hopefully I'll be just as keen when the new one finally gets going.

Cheers,
Warren.

Last time I spoke with Paul Wolley (or is it Wooley??) he mentined a vehicle of his construction had 240,000 km on it.
Not to detract from Mrs Flatchat at all, as 200,000 is a true demostration of passion for any motor vehicle of this sort.

I look forward to the time when I can drive to work daily which is 100 km return and chuck groceries and a bag of chook feed in the boot when I want. I definately don't want a sunday car. The paint job will possibly be ordinary (maybe done with a butter knife) and the car often never washed. Bugs plastered to the front and stone chips from our crap roads and the always uncovered quarry trucks.

But as long a I get 30 smiles to the gallon I will be stoked.

Maybe not....

I had racked up the 140,000 klms, but when I sold the car it had very few kilometers on the engine, and many other parts had low "ish" kilometers.

i.e. during the 6 years I owned it, I had upgraded just about every nut and bolt, and it had a completely new leather interior and boot trim.
It had twice the horsepower than it had in 2003, and it was in WAY better condition than it had been 6 years earlier, when it had done very few kilometers.

I could have parked it most days, driven it only on a nice Sunday occasionally, and it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good.

It all depends on what has been done to the car, and the quality of the upgrades I guess.

14000k in 5 years but I will blame Canberra winters and no roof or heater for the lack of miles.

Cheers

I agree Warren, most cars are continually re-furbished and I would rather buy a well used one than one with little use. You know it works! My 9000ks in almost two years is doing OK then. I generally get it fired up about 4 times week and it goes to work sometimes as well. Not as many washes or polishes as it deserves, however, it is well used.
