Ben,
I bought the side pipes from another member but for some reason the headers on the passenger side would not fit so I had to remake them.
The side pipes will be fitted for rego but the headers will be replaced with an underbody system. The new owner then has the option to fit the headers for show or track duties without to much hassel.
The same goes with the fans the blades, they will be removed for street duty and then attached for show or display events.
Keith I am sure karen would love to do that, not sure I can pull off the King Kobra thing again. Happy new year, and dont worry I still watching you .....
Thanks for the comments I am really enjoying the build, with rego now looking favourable in NSW I am hoping to have the car completed in a few months.
The car will be sold when completed and registered, and then I can get onto my next project, Grover.

Phil, I note you're using the TKO 600.
What caused you to choose the TKO over the T56?.

Back to Basics

I think the tko 600 with the .82 5th and 3.45 rear is a perfect combination for a Cobra. I have had that in my cobra and found it great, and gives a little more of a traditional feel.
Another reason is the shifter position, the TKO is perfect.
I have driven cobras with the T56 and really don't see the need, put a set of 3.9s or 4.11s in the rear and then the T56 starts to make sense but then taking off in first would be silly.
So with all that said, I like the TKO 600.

My thoughts exactly Phil.
In fact for a street car that box works perfectly with a Jag 3:31 diff.
The 3.54 Jag diff works better for more spirited driving.
Totally reliable too.

Steering Column
Hey Mando,
I am using the swift column that I have stripped off all the controls and the shroud.
I have unscrewed the lock mechanism and flipped it 180deg. The idea is the swift key that will be hidden behind the dash will be a master switch for power and the steering lock. The start button and the Ignition key on the dash will be functional but secondary to the Suzuki master.
The immobilizer control will be attached to the Suzuki key.
I will replace the Suzuki swich gear with a MINI unit that has turn signals, high beam switch and high beam flash.
I am sure this satisfies the ADR requirements, but will have to discuss with engineer. I am hoping this is ok as one of the things I dislike about cobra replicas is the steering column that clearly looks out of place.
The steering wheel and Boss are new products from SAAS, Adr compliant for pre airbag vehicles.

Really enjoying the build, but it is up for sale once engineered.
This was to be my race car but things turned out differently.
David,
There are 2 cone headed bolts that hold it in place they are hard to undo. With that aside just unbolt flip it and bolt it back up.
A 2 minute job.

Cheers Phil, the cone head bolts are break off bolts, the manufacturers use these as part of the anti theft, the bolt heads snap off when tightened up, thats why if you look close at the cones the centre will be rough.
Cheers for the advise on flipping over, it will be part of the strip and paint after Shelbyfest.
The in dash key, can I ask were you sourced this from?
I asked a local locksmith a while ago, he suggested a John Deere tractor switch & key.

The ignition switch and start button are from Finishline. A Lucas repro I think.

Where are the from gauges Phil? I like the metal housings over the plastic rebadged VDOs that are common down here.

Phil loving the build updates, this is a VERY clever build. The closer you look at the photos, the more ingenuity you see.
Nice to see an old school Cobra look, especially with the LS engine.
With that TKO 600, if I'm not mistaken you would have also saved yourself around 15kg's of weight compared to T56.
