Perhaps a little ironic considering a number of ford "rebuild" and "split my block" threads on the forum. It would appear the only way to make a ford engine reliable is to actually replace all the ford parts.

I like ford owners though.

Even as a blue blood myself... It's probably a bad time to be throwing stones after Wazza's thread.

Default Cam

SAMBO,

Its most likely your cam.

I had a 224/224 for rego and it was very close to stock from a sound/reving point of view.

The new cam ( same exhaust ) has livened up the note at idle but especially
at noise it sounds crisper, similar to my cobra 377ci Windsor with 4 into 1 side pipes.

I have the 224/224 Cam available for sale if you are interested...

Stiffy, I'm not touching the internals until it's fully registered (read: IM240), thanks for the offer though. Out of interest what sort of gains would I expect?

SAMBO,

The cam passed rego ( old test ).

The 224/224 cam added about 30RWKW but alot of torque and better throttle response.

No Merv (or Sharon), I have decided to follow every potentially inflammatory comment with a kind remark to reassure the intended recipient that I have no ill feeling towards them.

You live in Queensland right...beautiful state. Great folk. (OK - the first paragraph definitely not inflammatory, but you friggin queenslanders are so bloody precious its better to be safe then sorry*)

* Clearly I am still refining my new approach to posting

Stiffy, very encouraging. The current order for me is suspension, fake side pipes, full rego, upholstery, hardtop, then maybe look at tuning / cam.
