Default Congratulations - Marcos Ambrose

What a well deserved win in Nascar Sprint cup at Watkins Glen Raceway.

I am a Nascar fan and have been since I was a little kid and my hero was Richard Petty. Last year when news broke that Marcos was signing for Petty Motorsport I was estatic to think that Marcos would now be driving for my all time hero.

Hes done the hard yards through trucks, Nationwide and now his first win in Sprint cup.... just awesome.

Contratulations.... Aussie Aussie Aussie...

Agreed-a great result. He's a top talent and classy guy. I never saw his touring car races which I prefer to Cup. But I'd really rather see him in Indycar with the other great Aussies-Briscoe and Power.

Me too. Unlike most of the V8 super car drivers, Marcos would be terrific in Indycars. Is there some sort of stepping stone between Nascar and Indy or are the two mutually exclusive?

Interestingly Will Power used to call into our newsagency at Stones Corner occasionally and talk to my wife Lyn. He was a mate of Ash Lowe who lived next to us. Ash was a top Formula Ford driver whose career foundered due to lack of funds. Will went on to bigger and better things. Lyn always said what a nice well-mannered young guy Will was, and she gets a buzz when she reads of his Indycar successes.

Well done Marcus..

Mmm Will Power well mannered.... Bet the officials would not agree after his two handed salute to them after his last race restart..

No barriers to either series-just bring $pon$or$.
See Tony Stewart, Sam Hornish, Scott Speed, and many others.

Other than the fact that no one cares about indy cars anymore, anyone good enough leaves indy for nascar. Its almost spoopky to see how few fans are in the stands during an indy race.

I agree!!!

Probably one of the nicest guys in Nascar and he has a boat load of talent. Glad he got the win.

..and comes back. Witness Franchitti-about to be champ again.
Attendance-in NH yes. First race they got back in 7 years.
But Indy, Long Beach, Homestead, Kansas, both Canada races, Michigan and most others-it's the best it's been in several seasons.
