A massive congrats to Phil......Long may he rein........
As Waz said, a very popular winner. Phil is such a great bloke - there is no way I would have gotten my car down there this year without his help and support over the last 8 months. He is a champion on every level.
And top job to Robyn - Slightly slower then Phil but much easier to look at.

Well done Phil.
I second everything Andrew said, except the "rein" thing. I think they're used to steer horses. I reckon old Phil would go alright at the trots too.

Gav 1st class 3 drags, Phil 2nd. Phil 1st Class 3 Go to Whoa. Phil equal 2nd in Show N Shine. Phil was 2nd in the lumleys hot lap. Sprints: Phil 9's, Gav 11's, but the corks and Boxey were an absolute disgrace. Phil N and the other absentees were sorely missed and Mizz lost $100 in a bet because Gavs hardtop failed to launch itself off the car down the main straight......

Thank you guys,
I still cannot believe I was awarded King cobra. It seems not so long ago when I was attending the Nationals for the first time with my gel coat white cobra with black steel rims. I would look at all the shiny cars and watch as people like Gary Sims and Garrett Hebden would tear up the track like seasoned pros, it all seemed totally out of reach.
To have people like Keith Baxter, Ashley Bright, Peter Hancock, Richard Herring, John Collet, the boys Louie and James, and of course my inspiration Gary Sims seeing me as competition is really over whelming.
I do take my hat off to Ash and Gary for their 1.07 lap times in round 4, (not sure what was going on with that). The bar has been raised again.
The weekend was great; the car was running ok with a few issues but managed to perform when it needed to.
Robyn, I think I was more excited about your win, well done.
A big thankyou goes to Neil Streeting, you stuck your neck out and did what was needed, the huge amount or work you and your team have done showed with the massive improvements made on the program.
I will have to say Neil; you are the person who "saved" the nationals.
Thank you and see you next year.
Phil

I don't think an LS engine has ever won anything Cobra related has it? All they seem to do is keep blowing up......

It is not so long ago that King Cobra Garrett Hebden(Not Sure of spelling) made everyone move a few paces back whenever he was out on the track.
I am sure that was a blown LS1.
But keep looking over your shoulder as they are coming, and be sure to take notice as there presence is usually brief.
Phil

Yeah but surely those awards were only meant to be attendance awards?
