So we're all in Woodcote on Sunday. Nice! Now the next big decision is whether to dress in period Shelby team clothing which has been encouraged for the event:
...or should I go traditional and tweed up a storm...?
Military is the third option. I have my Uncle's unworn WW2 Australian Navy shirt here at home, but I couldn't bring myself to wear that.

I'll also be in the stand on the Sunday, wearing my Ferrari 250 GTO shirt!
How about this news... fantastic.

I don't know about Craig's tweed look but the Cobra shirts look OK. At least we could find each other. How would they go with a flat cap I wonder?
Anyhow I found some essential reading....

I understand from the GW ticketing people it is likely to be on Sunday but they did also say the race programs wont be set until much closer to the date.
And we are talking about English Autumn, you'll freeze in the cobra shirts.
I did have 2 tweed jackets but turfed them years ago. Perhaps the op shops might have something.

Mate haven't you been listening to Anna Bligh?
We're Queenslanders. They breed 'em tough north of the border.
The year before last I did the Nationals in Goulburn in a pair of shorts.
Before you remark on my sanity, I forgot to pack my jeans. After the first four hours the circulation below my knees had ceased and I didn't feel a thing.
The square bear helped at night too.

Trouble with Goodwood at that time of year is that the weather can vary from 'almost hot' to damn-near Arctic, so be warned. First time I went I decided on a t-shirt, shirt, waistcoat and tweed jacket and I cooked!! But if the weather is bad, the wind-chill can freeze you to be bone. It's a flat airfield and the wind can blow in from the coast - not fun. When the rain arrived last year (sorry - monsoon!) the temperature changed from summer to winter and hypothermia became an issue....I now opt for mechanics overalls as you can add or remove clothing underneath, as required

Game on...
According to the Goodwood site "At least half the total production" of GTOs will be there.
However, it makes me worry when there were 39!
Shelby race is scheduled for 13.55 on the Saturday

Gang
The insert below is the response I received today in reply to my querying status of tickets.
Dear Mr Low,
We have just started dispatching tickets for the Revival.
Therefore although I still cannot guarantee when we will be able to dispatch your tickets to you I would expect them to arrive in the next month or so.
Guess we should start to see things soon, so do ping in if and when you get any information in the mail.

I got tickets for Saturday and Sunday and the lavant grandstand for the Sunday. The other one was sold out..... Will have the minister with me so will need to be doing something other than just sitting in the grandstand on one day at least... Travel agent is looking at accom based upon recommendations from this post. Anyone know if the period costume thing is compulsory???

The period costume is not compulsory but is highly supported if you can manage it. I've realised I do have a tweed coat so Annie and I might do the Saturday period dressed as that will be part wandering part standsthrough the Lavant group.
I believe if you have access to some of the special entry areas they do put a requirement on for period dress, but us mere mortals can't get in to these parts anyway.
Anyone seen any tickets yet?
Steve

Holy sh1t it's difficult to get accommodation. Ended up getting a self contained 3 bed place about 800m from the Goodwood front gate. Means we can go home for lunch if we want... And it has wheels so we can move it around... Motorhome was $1000 for the week! We got quotes of $600 for 2 nights at a hotel so went with the Motorhome. Pick up & drop off from Heathrow , all is good!

Some kind of relevant "Costume" will make you feel much better... part of the event.
You will have a fantastic weekend - just remember the weather can change - prepare for cold windy rain and hot summer... easy
I went there in 2011 - and are will attend again this year
