Hi guys,
Looking forward to meeting you all. The weather forecast is looking pretty good (for the UK in September ).
My Cobra is back together again following open heart surgery and ready to go. We should be arriving on the campsite late Thursday afternoon. I'll be in a polished Kirkham #89.

Paul

If you want to avoid the traffic queues, you want to be there by the time the gates open. You will pass the campsite on your way in, so if you get there early, by all means park up and take a short walk back to the campsite and join us for a coffee.

Box - Dad and I did the same thing today. We couldn't stay away from Goodwood... Did you go through Arundel to get there? How amazing is the Arundel Castle!?!?!

I couldn't get a postpaid sim card as I don't have a UK address for a credit check. The stores don't seem to have prepaid micro sims, so I might just stick with scamming free wifi at various pubs and restaurants.

We're now in East Preston. Our plan is to get to the Goodwood carpark each day before it officially opens. I'd much prefer to queue up at carpark entrance for a while, than get stuck in a traffic jam miles away from the circuit because of leaving the hotel later

I remember the drinking holes in Hayes as a student - not a very salubrious place in the late 80s! I hope they've improved.

The Anglia (Angela) even has a Cobra connection! Used to be owned by Nigel Hulme, and raced at the Revival regularly, who owned the Le Mans Cobra 39PH, plus several other Cobras. He now imports Superformance cars into the UK.

Wow, what a weekend.
Nothing was ever going to top yesterday, it was such an unbelievable sight watching and hearing so many angry Cobra's (& Daytona).
I have plenty ofsecent pics I will post when back in Australia, so here come some more iPhone pics, no order again, but I will try and add a description.

One of the stalls was a fella selling pictures and a book containing some of his images, he would also add a quick sketch of whatever car you wanted on the inside cover, well I had a picture of my cobra in my phone, so he sketched that one for me.
Here is his book.

Here is the picture he copied.

And here is his 5 minute sketch.

So know I have my own little momento from the weekend.

I had always wanted to get a leather flying cap and goggles, but needing prescription glasses always thought I would need to get contact lenses, well I found this company who sells the goggles with room to have prescription lenses fitted inside, so when I get home, the aero screen will go back in for a while.

Thi was for sale, has a seat inside so you can sit in there and drive it around, electric drive motor.

Some planes.

This w a sight to cherish, Lancaster bomber flanked by a pair of Spitfires.

I will also add that Ronda is keen to return next year, may have to find a WWII Australian Army/Airforce clothing, or old racecar mechanics overalls.
