Steering Wheels
All
On a recent trip to the local auto parts shop I noticed some new SAAS steering wheels on display. I had not seen them in a shop previously and suspect they might be a new product. Either way they might be of ineterst to anyone looking for the classic 16" look. Apparently, they also come in 17" if you have the room.
The overall finish is very nice and there are a number of options. This link should display some of the different models.

Seriously thinking of adding one of these but not sure if it will go with the new interior (when and if it ever comes to fruition!).
Cheers

Fantastic! I saw this in the Orphan's thread but assumed it was a MotoLita or similar variant. It really does look the part.

With my Motolita I had to have the base re-drilled suit the SAAS boss. With the SAAS wheel that should not be a prob. I still like the MotoLita, however, the other one that I always liked was the classic Nardi wheel.

I have a Motolita wheel that I was to put on the Orphan but the Saas is advertized as ADR compliant for pre airbag vehicles, thats is why I got one.
They are of a very good quality for the $250.00RRP
I have requested the Proof of adr compliance from SAAS with no rely as yet.

The MotoLita wheel in QLD was regarded as ADR compliant by my engineer and QT.

Thats great Merv, however in 2002 mine was not suitable and was replaced with the factory wheel.
Got to move to Queensland.

Is that situation still the same Phil? Either way, your new wheel looks great, as does the car. These Cobras just keep evolving, into better and better cars.

I am not sure but I have the factory wheel just in case.
The SAAS wheels are great, but the motorlita are exceptional.
The wheel I have is actually the very first part I bought when I ordered my first cobra, i wasn't real sure about putting it on the Orphan only to see it sold. When I saw the SAAS it was an easy decision to get one and keep the motorlita.

Yeah, me too. I agonised for weeks looking at all the pics in Trevor Legate's book at those original wheels and that was the first purchase I made. All I needed was the car.

Hi Phil,
If you have any trouble with a certificate for the wheel, let me know. Im pretty sure i know the details of the lab that does the testing for SAAS. I have spoken to the guy there before and he was helpful. It was back when the drama of ADR10/02 was going on.

HI Liam,
I will see how I go, sounds like they were tested.
The SAAS boss kit also comes with a black horn button. It didn't really fit the new wheel but 10mins on the lathe and it now fits. Added an "ac" emblem.
