Icetoo,
I have read the thread and you are whinging about your woulda, coulda, shoulda bought a cobra.
All of us here I would think have built our cars either to a budget, or as we could afford it.
Maybe you need to re-asess what it is that you want, if you want wine you may need to forget a beer budget.

yep...No worries, gone is gone, the bridge is built and I am over it....and I have a couple of other contenders on the books.
I have a lot more than 50K to spend but do not want to blow it on the initial procurement and would rather save some funds for bits and pieces for a car that is OK at a certain baseline and ready for enhancement within regulatory restriction....instead of spending 95K on a car that needs no further work and looks pretty that I do not want to break

May I suggest you just build one yourself?
Depending on how much of the labour you do yourself, and you dont buy the first item you see that you need (researh and hunt the bargains) then I dare say within a few years you will be driving your car.

Sure...I have still considered this but it will take me about five years or so to complete, noting I spend two thirds of my time out of the country serving my country....and when I am home time is spent doing the catch up things that I could not do that still need doing when I am away. Leave is at the convenience of the ADF rather than the member a lot of the time.
I am assuming that by 2017, NSW build compliance may also include radar assisted braking distance capability too
BTW...I am not whinging...merely expressing operational restrictions

Mine's LPG powered ONLY because of NSW registration requirements at the time. It goes pretty hard so far !

Hey Rob...have you looked into the cost of the LPG liquid injection systems up our way...I was considering this option as an upgrade to the IMPCO and Gas research systems on some of the LPG set ups out there.

Its the sort of thing that the "angry ant" little man would come out with from time to time even though they had no ownership of the situation or involvement with the discussion at hand. Not suggesting this is the case here, or stirring the pot, merely referencing a similar exemplar situation.
I will clarify however, that I was not having a ...how did it get put...yes.."a whinge' ..merely stating a fact regarding a situation that I do have ownership of and direct buy in to in regards to the subject of this thread.
This may have been missed if the whole thread had not been read and often it is easy to misinterpret online text.
Having stated this, guys who can find an explosive situation where there was none are my first choice of assigning to point for mine field clearance as they clearly demonstrate the competency. Not a great long term career prospect though.
Now in an attempt to de-highjack and get back on track...what is the protocol regarding my earlier proposed inquiry for re negotiation protocols of a failed online auction sale?

Very funny also. This can be a lively place. I am sure that more cars will come up soon.

Hahaha... Adam, there's a back story here - best you do a search, but let just say some nerves were struck.

Not yet mate..sorry forgot to answer....ill give him a fortnight or so....I think it would be better for him to call either you or me first...but then again...we may end up with a new member so I will be polite and still have a plan B and C to work with.
Cheers for your help up there....I would love to post in thread a ..."you will never guess who I got a call from today..." post though, but I have moved on and if this is revisited in the meantime before I need to act on plan B...well...I will offer accordingly!
