Default Extractors for a Boss 290 in a GForce?

Hi Everyone,

Well, this weekend, I went to drop the engine on the chassis for the first time to check that the oil pan would be alright and found that it wouldn't fit because of the stock extractors .

Anyhow, I know need to find somewhere to buy extractors that will work with a Boss 290 engine in a GForce frame.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adam.

Adam
I doubt that you will find a set of pipes to fit off the shelf.
Most likely you will need to find youself a good exhaust fitter and have the headers custom made to suit the car. I think this would be pretty much the case for most cobras

Hi adam,

For the 4.6 dohc to fit in my harrison (same block size i believe) . I had to go a full custom set made by a good exhaust shop, nothing else will come close to fitting.

Get ready to be pineappled in Perth, everytrhing is so expensive to get made.

I would suggest making your own, you can buy all the bends from Mantra. Roughly work out how many 45's & 90's you need and go from there. I would use 1 3/4". You should be able to make your own for $200 - $300 or so. Put your steering coloumn in first.

Not an easy job but rewarding when complete.

Yep make your own.
Not sure were you will get header flanges from, but I bought a box of 16 @ 90 degree and 16 @ 45 degree 1 7/8 mandrel bends from Di Filippo Performance Exhausts.

1 weekend and I had them all made up.
