Sambo,
Pauls car is not a track car its a fully dedicated race car he races it in sports cars and has got the the thing into the 1:24 on new rubber before. He had pole last round at Winton and ran out of rubber and finnished second. 1:27 is only steady pace for that car.

Sorry Phil, got my wires crossed. Imagine how fast you could be going
LJ, by track car I meant race car, ie, not streetable. I spoke to Paul on Saturday as he's interested in a hardtop. He was telling me that after adding the cage he lost 20mph down the straight at Phillip Island, hence looking into a roof. Or potentially starting again with a DRB540. That blue DRB540 at Winton looked like a bit of a weapon too.

Thanks to Jason, Tony and any other volunteers for the time and effort, I personally had a ball and really hope to be there again next year.
My plan of attack will be to tow Cobra down a few weeks earlier and fly home before flying back to race (the long driving before is making it not as enjoyable as it should be) and I should be looking forward to attend practice on Friday instead of feeling "over it"
I wish there was circuit racing closer to home.

Sorry Sambo did not mean any disrespect. Just thought a track car is quite diffrent to race car. Paul is a great bloke to talk to and did all the work on his car him self, last year at the Island he left a conrod in the font of a Lambo when it let go down into turn 1 DRB540 shape would flow airo better and you are right about the one at Winton you can tell the guy loved it just by the it was presented. But the Cobra shape still looks better I recon.

I noticed he did not check the handbrake?
Oh, he did not need to, as he drove the car into the pits.
