From a Nationals Virgin.......I had a fabulous weekend, first ever hillclimb, drag and G2W, what a hoot
Thanks to all guys that put the weekend together, especially Ronnie Ford for sorting out the arrangements for the QLD crew and my prize from Belllingen, Fordy's (and Mario's) exclusive Cruising CD Gold Edition.
Bring on the Morgan Park Sprints and next years Nationals

What a weekend. Thank you to the NSW club for putting on another great event.
It was great to catch up with old friends and meet a bunch of new ones.
Well done to Ash for his King trophy. You can retire now Towy..... or defend the title?
Great to catch up and meet all the Vic and Nsw crew. Ross, LJ, Gavin, Ralph and Streeto.
I reckon Gav's shown his form. He'll be in even greater form next year...
Missed seeing Margie, Tenrocca and Stephy out there but maybe next year.
Well done to Big Tom and Byron for their effort. Huge well done to Tom for the distance travelled. AND he took a trophy home too!
I just enjoyed getting some reliable car time and continue to learn my way around the thing. For all those torque masters out there who do WP in 3rd and 4th..here's one of my sessions...
I'm still working it out.... But I'm trying and I'm smiling! For a change!

Nice clips... particularly like the last one "onboard highlights"...
A couple of very nice saves, and seemingly lots of fun had.
Congrats

Thanks Spook, I had a fantastic meeting and the car ran like clock work.
Thanks to all the organizers for producing such an awesome weekend.
I think the best thing about the cobra community is that everyone there is prepared to help each other improve irrespective of how close the cars are points wise. I really appreciate those guys who are happy to talk set up or racing lines with those of us with less experience. It makes the racing good and the friendships even better.

Gav,
You would be one of the most improved drivers....
You gave it a red hot go....well done.
We also had a couple of big improvers...
My co-driver Ron Ford...had never done better than a 1m.09sec....and this time cracked out a 1m. 05.80sec.....
It's sickening !!
Ash Bright was destined to win the sprints....he managed a P.B. 1m.07secs.on Saturday afternoon...CARRYING A PASSENGER !!!....then whips out a bloody 1m.05.6 on the Sunday !!
If this was the Olympics I'd be asking for swabs !!
Seriously though....the organization of the whole event was first class...and already working out how to go faster next year.
Here's another In car video..... me "beetling" around the track on Sunday.

Again just congratulating the Cobra Club of NSW for a fantastic event.
All the Vic's had a great time and will be back stronger next year.
To all the single Vic's out there they should start looking for a girlfriend
that can drive so we can compete in the State of Origin. Or just gloat about
the NRL premiership and be done with it.......

If I run an aero screen and billboards, does that put me in race class?

15"
Rob,
There are still a few 15" tires available, from AVONS ( $2600.00 a set )
to TA'S/352'S, Coopers and so on.
Billboards are available from Stucky tires in Vic or much cheaper from
Tire Rack in the States as are most tires.

Hi Rob,
Gordon Leven Motorsport Tyres at Emu Plains have a reasonable range and supply of 15" Avons, the company was down at the Nationals. It was great to see them there supporting the event. You wouldn't call Avons cheap but they are the best 15" tyres I've had on the car, though they are showing signs of molten rubber on the edge of the tread after the nationals. I've got some MT street radials with very little use if you're interested in a bit of drag racing.
cheers

Gordon... Thanks for the heads-up I will be looking for some tyres in the near future. You are on the very small list.
