Default 3 days at the nurburgring

Well I have just spent 2 full days at the ring and what a track. They had an old timers event here over the weekend, heaps of mg's Ferrari's the odd cobra etc. pretty cool!
I rented an M3 from Frankfurt and headed out on the autobahn.. These guys are crazy, I was following a Mazda CX-7 for a couple of k's doing around $1.80, couldn't believe it, most people cruise on around $1.60. I finally got a bit of a break on an unrestricted section & saw $2.33 before an idiot pulled out in front of me.....
On the track I rented a megane R26 R from RSR Nurburgring, awesome little factory built track car, drove just like a rear driver. I did 5 laps in pretty heavy traffic yesterday and another 5 laps today. I videoed the 5 laps today (very frowned upon!) which I will try & put on YouTube under another name a big later. Did a best of 9min 9 sec bridge to bridge. Not too bad considering 2 yellow sections on the track all day. Every lap I saw an accident, dangerous place if you don't know what you're doing of u get ur ambitions & capabilities mixed up.
I would totally recommend anyone remotely interested on racing to come over & drive a few laps. For anyone who has done Bathurst, imagine the top of the mountain but 21 k long and an elevation change of 300 m.
I am driving the lesser known southern loop tomorrow, it is just as good but just a regular road. I will report more later.

Awesome. Cangrats on experiencing what I feel is the best track in the world.

I have been there a few times and had a variety of different experiences. There nearly is always something going on there.

As you mentioned, untill you have driven it, you cant appreciate the elevation changes and number of corners...... the pure fun.

If anyone has ever thought about going there, do it, its worth the effort.

Also jealous. I am in Germany now but I wish I had either the Cobra or the Cayman here ...

The Nordschliefe is not the problem, it's the half a billion a private company (plus govt) spent on building 'Disneyland' at the GP track.

The sudschliefe was only 7 klm long and half of it is now the GP track. We did drive on a piece of the original track tho, I can understand why Jackie Stewart called it the Grune Holle or Green Hell.
