Looks like the Gen F GTS LSA Engine will be popular due to their low price. GTS is fitted with the Camaro ZL1 version of the LSA, not the Cadillac CTS-V version.
We have them on order already from our engine supplier for other customers. Manual versions with twin plate clutch and mated to the slick Tremec 6060 MG9 gearbox. That gearbox has some very sweet road/race ratios and oil cooler support.
We will do some test fitting as soon as our first unit arrives.
Simon, if you can wait, we will be supplying a full fitment kit. Engine and gearbox mounts. Full coolant system with heat exchanger, reservoir, pump and all fittings and hoses. Plus cold air intake system.
We can exchange your existing engine/gearbox mounts if they are not suitable.
Looks to be an excellent fit for a PACE 427 especially with that low slung throttle body at the front.
Also looks to be easy to get running with available electronics controller kits.
It is a tall engine though, so if anyone else is considering fitting it to another kit check the dimensions.
Harrop get 530KW & 1000Nm with their Stage 2 kit for the GTS LSA. Harrop just uses simple bolt-on changes and a tune. Lots of potential, that's if you are crazy enough to think you need even more power than what it provides stock.

Yes, quality OEM cats are highly recommended.
Due to our unique exhaust routing we can run the largest/bulkiest of oem cats very, very close to the exhaust headers without sacrificing ground clearance or creating heat issues. VE V8 Commodore cats are physically one of the largest around.

I'm still undecided if I'm going for full reg or club reg, so I may not even need to worry about cats.
But if I go full reg, depends on what the engineer says but I'll more than likely have to run an undercar system. It just so happens that I kept the 1200km old OEM cats off my E3 HSV when I put the 3" Walkinshaw system on. I also have a pair of brand new Outlaw 200cpi Euro III cats too that fit the Walkinshaw system. Which cats should I use?

I'd say the HSV cats have a better chance of passing the IM240 than a set of aftermarket "Euro III" cats.
According to the following info, Euro 4 came into effect for new passenger vehicles in 2008. There are special rules for ICVs but with Euro 5 and 6 being phased in, I wouldn't count on Euro 3 being acceptable for too much longer. Perhaps an engineer can chime in here?

Sambo, yes I am of the same belief, you can bank on the performance of OEM cats. Just keep in mind that not all OEM cats perform the same, it all depends on how "dirty" the original engine is compared to the emissions level they are trying to meet. kyleb mentioned he used XF Falcon cats for that reason.

Hi Muzza, yes, I have sourced the correct-spec gearbox for the car. It's the 6 speed Tremec TR-6060 'MG9' variant as fitted to the ZL1 Camaro and current model VF GTS. The gearbox features oil cooler support which is nifty. I wonder if you'd need to run a trans oil cooler in such a lightweight car?
t's available locally. Just under $3K to my door (brand new) and it includes an integrated bellhousing.
I just haven't bought it yet!

EPA don't care what sort of rego you have when you are polluting. Besides no cats smells very bad.

Sounds like a cool build,
We are about to upgrade a GTS LSA with a Lingenfelter cam, heads and boost upgrade, these things are going to make some crazy power..

I think I have the same g'box behind my LS3 and I was told that if I did not want to run the cooler then I had to plumb the outlet to the inlet else the g'box oil pump could cavitate. So I elected to fit the cooler.
Also, the cooler kit as supplied actually mounts the cooler to the side of the gearbox, so that is where I put mine.

Went to Kmart tonight to get the kids some presents for their friend's birthday parties tomorrow....and I found this little gem. At only $12, I couldn't say no.
Some motivation to keep me going!
