Gc600
Well spent the day at the gc600 in the Team Dynamic corp box. While that sort a caper is not generally my cuppa tea I learnt much and met many. Spent a fair bit of time with the gm of armor all which was cool and now have a zillion years worth of the shiny stuff at my disposal. Keep your eyes peeled for STP making a push into the market next year too. Shhhhh!
Anyhow...the drivers were super friendly. Dave Reynolds, davison, winterbottom and many others all gave their time and talked shop to anyone keen to listen. Michael Patrizi was really impressive too and spoke to me a lot about race tyre prep. All in all it was a good day. Roland Dane was not too impressed with me taking pics under the hood of the techno car.... But I said i really was a Ford man and didn't even know what I was taking a photo of. He laughed. Sorta.
It's a shame we can't build a purpose built track at Norwell and leave the ducks alone in Macintosh park but that's another story.
My pics are not good but I'll post what I can.
Biggest disappointments was how the Merc gt gullwing sounds at full noise. Like a commercial woopy cushion. Awful. And that for a whole day at the track there was only 1 actual race..oz racing cars at 4.30pm. The stands were far from full except when the school kids filled them up!
Pics to come.

Man am I jealous. What a great day and a fantastic opportunity.
I've unfortunately got no time to go to the GC600 this year, maybe next year.
Can't wait to see the photos.

When the Indy cars were here, Friday was a great day of track action. It looks like they are spreading the support races a bit thin now.
What a great opportunity to get an insight into the team!

Heading up there in a few hours, my folks live in Atlantis, 30 odd floors up right over the start line (pity the grandstand blocks out the grid though)
If you feel like a walk tomorrow Matt, drop in for a beer and pull up a chair on the balcony
You still have my number? PM me if not

Average Iphone pics but you get the general idea. Should have been there Saturday for the International Drivers Start. I was VERY surprised they allowed the newbies with little to zero experience do that?? Gary Rodgers flushed $100k in that incident alone never mind Sunday's wheel man debacle.!
If I put my business head on and ignored the Cochrane spruick I can't see it living past its contract period of 2013.
Yesterday was my 21st time I've been a prisoner (oops I mean local residing participant) in the event and it was the most quiet aftermath I've ever experienced. I didn't even get one beer bottle over the fence.
We did still have a 30 strong brawl, 3 people stabbed plus a highrise balcony death but that can happen on any weekend on the Goldy so its hard to suggest any direct correlation.
Cough, wine, wheeze.
AND to see the drivers being taken around the track in soft top Audi's was almost a channel changer...

Word is GRM will have to shell out closer to $240,000 for the weekend carnage of both cars!!
