You ain't seen nothin' yet.
Those who were there this year may have noticed little stalls where 'The Telegraph' rag was selling shoulder bags with their scandal sheet and a few bits including a twin DVD of the 2011 Revival - cheap as chips at 1.50 GBP. Printed on the bag was a photo of the glorious 250 GTO so naturally I bought two.
The DVD is fabulous and contains the 1 hour show, hosted by Murray Walker, which is shown here on the Speed channel as well as 3 hours of extended highlights of all the other races.
As you can see the DVD has 'The Telegraph' logo on the cover but I had assumed it would be something sold by Goodwood on-line. I was hoping to get my wife one of the 2012 Revival for Christmas but I haven't noticed it available anywhere.
Speaking of Murray, here he is in the paddock, and
Nick Mason, drummer with Pink Floyd and 250 GTO owner who was driving one of the Silver Arrows - kinda make you feel old doesn't it.
(edit) I found the DVD link. Looks like it's not available yet. http://shop.goodwood.com/products/20...pre-order-only

Well here it is -- confirmation that the Whitsun Trophy race, which this year celebrated fifty years of Cobra racing, will next year feature the fiftieth anniversary of the start of the GT40 programme in 1963.
For us it's probably not quite the same emotional attraction as watching thirty or so genuine Cobras doing battle, but watching a similar number of genuine GT40s going at it won't be half bad either.

Picked it in one Peter.
A year on and I'm still having flashbacks.
Love the girls on Daytona Beach and the sound of the W154 coming through Woodcote is as vivid in my mind now as it was last year. Did you see that Stanley Mann has that 39 Lagonda Le Mans for sale? About 390K pounds to you sir!
Thank goodness for my regular hit of Sports Car Digest.... and thanks for the pics. Cobra Nats this year but next year .... who knows? I'd love to go over for the Festival and the Revival and poke around the Cotswolds and the South Downs and the Malvern Hills and and and ... in between. Unbelievably beautiful countryside and lots of quaint little pubs and motor museums and collections to be discovered! Withdrawal symptoms? Who? Me?

It truly is an awesome event, and to share it with a bunch of like minded Aussies was great!
It's an event that Mel said she would go back to..... but this time 'we' would be more involved in the 'fancy dress' side of things...

Tickets have arrived
Received my tickets last week. Will be there on Friday and Saturday. Cant wait and even though the 2013 Revival is a tribute to Ferrari, I am guessing that there still will be plenty of Cobras and hoping for at least one Daytona

Serpnt prepare yourself for a truly amazing experience, and don't be in too big a hurry to get away on the Friday night. Stick around for this -- it's something you'll never see out here in the colonies.

Have to agree with Don, the twilight race was fantastic to watch with the yellow candle lights trying there best.
The sound of the cars as the air cooled and became clearer was a sight and sound I will remember for a long time.

Thanks Don and Boxy,
Issue is, I will have the good wife shopping in London while I am enjoying the Revival, so traveling to and from London. For some reason, she feels we should be spend the evenings together enjoying the Theater. I have to say, and for the people that know me, its probably too late to be imbibed with English culture

You are in for a 2 plus hour drive each way.
And to beat the traffic in, you want to be there by 7:30am
I would honestly try and find accommodation closer.

Good points Box.
Serpnt forget the wife's shopping for the two days you'll be attending the greatest show on earth. From dawn Friday to midnight Saturday your focus should be all Festival. Skimp on this and you'll be kicking yourself -- trust me!
Closer accommodation will be scarce at this time but make the effort to find some. We stayed at Littlehampton and if you're desperate you should be able to find something at Bognor for a few days.
You simply MUST be there by 7.30 so you can watch the vast pre-75 car park fill up with all manner of stunning and beautiful looking (and sounding) machinery. Some of the cars rolling in you will not have seen live before. The Goodwood saying "Our car park is better than most car shows" is so true!
Man I wish I was going to be there again this year!

We stayed at Bracklesham Bay, (No good to keep your wife occupied), by this stage we had been away from home for 4 weeks, so Ronda was happy to spend a few days with a book on the couch or on the beach.
Portsmouth is inside half hour west of Chichester and a bigger place to keep the wife occupied.
Or to the east about 45 minutes is Brighton, another big place that should see the boss happily shopping for a few days.

We stayed in a B&B in Funtington, a little town to the west of Goodwood and about 10-15 minutes drive at the most away.
Best of all coming from that direction onto New Rd where we were parking was very light in terms of traffic and this at about 7.30am each morning or even a touch later.
This car park is the furthest from the one Don is talking about but walking through the race course you still got to see some magnificent machines arriving to park inside the race track area.
Regardless have fun anyway!!
