Got some news last night, not so good but in the big scheme not a real problem.

The farkin boat broke down.
Expected delivery date is now 13th March, this is the same day I leave Alice heading toward Albury for Valiant car show.
So most likely running with the Kumho 17 inch wheels at Winton.

And the local Chrysler dealership are wanting to be major sponsor, they will cover cost of bodywrap and some cash my way aswell.

And here is a short video that was put together by Australian Agent.
There is footage toward the end of our practice day in Alice Springs.

OK, looks like the US supplier told a porky when he said "On the boat, boat broke down"
But the shipping agent does now have a confirmation that they are on the water, and due in Adelaide approx 25th March.
He was also sent this picture.

With my BillBoard tyres sitting at the front.

I thought you were kidding about the colour scheme Dave! The car looks fantastic, should really stand out in the desert.

Hi Dave, hope to get to Barmera on Saturday. Keep your phone on although it shouldn't be to hard to spot you driving that thing around. Good luck on your first race.

Regards.

What a weekend, I will have some of my pics tomorrow (left camera cable at home), but had a blast.
Here are some pictures from offroad website.

It did not end well for this kart.

Nor this one.

This fella won the weekend.

I had a roll over and lost the chain (got a nudge on R/H rear wheel) so managed no points in first race.
They ran 2 classes in adult (450) races, with a celebrity race where alot of the big names in offroad racing where invited to drive a car.
and a seperate class for the non celebrities.
I ended up 4th in adult class (all other adults are off road racers) from a field of 8
http://www.offroadracing.com.au/even..._tk/res_ad.pdf

Then last race of the day was all entries, had a field of 28 cars start the race.
I finished in 8th after starting in 14th.
And I was getting braver each lap learning how hard to push the cars.

I have a very sore right thumb and a sore left shoulder.

And here is the first race in the Celebrity races.
First lap is a little slow, as the guys are getting the feel for the karts, nearly everyone had never even sat in one before the first race.
