+2.

I use Nathan for suspension repairs and alignments on my customer's vehicles. Great to work with, efficient and very reasonably priced.

He will also likely be fabricating the undercar exhaust for my Pace too.

Default Further progress

Achieved closure on a number of items over the past week

Received my custom spark plug leads from Ice Ignition having worked out the carrier method and then measuring up using the plug ends available.

Used billet loom carriers attached by the rocker cover bolts. I increased the leads from the standard 8mm to 9mm which has made them snug in the billet carriers.

I also realised I hadn't fitted up the necessary rear reflectors and worked up a means by attaching into the rear nudge bar mounting bolts. The photo also shows the raised position of the reversing lights now protected by the fuel tank. In the right back ground is the modified amp lead cover I am just finishing off as well.

And after a bit of polishing in the engine bay to clean up dulled bright work, I finally mounted up the engine plate I'd had polished and which had been missing off the motor and in storage all those years.

Perhaps some day hence I'll need to get this plate modified to include the letters "SC" - Supercharged. That would be nice!

So that nicely finishes off the engine look.

The last bits of work will still be in the boot until Friday when I get the trailer and load the car up for a Saturday delivery to the trimmer.

Cheers

Aus

I have a polishing man I use and whom does a great job.

Visited him with the windscreen and he was smart enough to know not to polish the chrome off the brass.

He had done the plenum, that centre plate and the gas tank cap previously too.

However I pulled out my purple polish to revisit the plenum shine that had dulled since it had been first polished. This stuff is just great and can be used on most metals.

The trick I suspect will be keeping the sucker shiny with use - lol

Default It is time!

So to the tune "The Wizard of Oz" I hum to the photo below....

'Off to see the trimmer'

Deliver the car first thing tomorrow morning. Many thanks to Marty's trailer services - lol

Am hoping it should only be two or three weeks and the cabin and seats will be fully trimmed.

Will be visiting Advantage suspension for an alignment and am fortunate that Marty's RWC fellow will look the car over for that piece of paperwork.

Will be pushing all and sundry as I've booked a Vicroads inspection appointment for registration on 14 December!!

Cheers

Default Safely installed for next phase

A quiet drive yesterday morning and unloaded the car into the trimmer's shop.

Had a good chat with Peter's brother as the first to arrive as he'd owner a cobra about a decade ago.

Had a look at the hide and carpet for the job and still pleased with the colour selection. Now I can't wait for it to be finished.

Many thanks to Marty's trailer services for the loan of the Kenmer transporting special.

Enjoy

Ben

Sadly Peter overstated his staff's availability, as I should have realised for this time of year.

I was at the shop early last week and have to admit there was a huge dent in the number of cars that had been in his shop.

Peter did indicate then that he was hoping to tackle my car this week coming.

I'll keep you posted.

If the interior is finished prior to Christmas I will be purchasing an unregistered vehicle permit so that I can do some testing.

Here's hoping for this at least.

Default A Christmas present........

Seems I may have been more nice than naughty this year.

Santa (aka Peter Blackman) rang this morning to indicate that he expects to have the cabin and seats completed by next Monday.

The cheese and kisses and I will toddle in to Peter's factory tomorrow to test fit the seat foam to make sure there is adequate support.

All being good I'll need to work up a Vicroads unregistered vehicle permit to allow me to drive the car home - woo hoo!

I was meant to have visited Vicroads on Monday just passed for re-registration. With the previously delays identified some time back, I pushed that inspection date back to Monday 25 January 2016.

This will ensure I have ample time to get a roadworthy and other work done for this Vicroads visit date.

Now I am excited!!

Interior photos will follow in due course.

Cheers

A quick update though no photos.

Cabin carpeted with just edge finish to be done.

Seat backs done but a little more lower back padding will be added. Very traditionally looking pleated style.

Most importantly Peter had two styles of seat base foams prepared. He had been planning on using the thicker one.

After repeated seating tests between the missus and I the thinner variant will be used to get a nice height position in the car.

Didn't see the door trims but they had been done too with pockets.

The colour combo is spot on so we are very happy.

Car will be finished Monday so planning on collecting it Tuesday arvo once I've finished my last audit for the year.

Getting excited now!!
