Colour is a slightly customised Yamaha motor bike blue pearl. It's really heavy on the pearl so I had to play around with different ground coats. Really happy with the colour. Looks awesome in the sun. Not going to paint the body for a while yet though.

Acrylic or 2-Pack ? Good move not to paint the bod until it's finished...too many opportunities to scratch the thing ! Make sure you have all the colour mix formulas or you could have a nightmare in the future....also it will make a future sale more convincing ! Top move having the similar colour in the gelcoat ...No stone chip stand out !

Rob, it's 2 pack debeers. I used their scratch resistant clear also for a bit more durability. Colours are all standard formula it's just the combination. This colour is really transparent and when used over primer doesn't cover. There was no ground coat specified so I tried putting it over different colours till I got a good finish. Ended up using black underneath.

Jamie the beer is always cold.

Took a walk around video prior to putting the body on if anyone is interested. After doing this i added neoprene rubber to the top of the chassis. Excuse the music, had to comply with copyright laws.

What shocks and spring rates are you running in the rear?
I assume you will be using all four on the back. I like the polished look.

They are Alden Eagle shocks and springs. I will be using 4 on the rear, just haven't been able to afford them yet so kaput spacers in. Not sure. On spring rate yet. The once I have are not correct due to a design change after purchasing.

Yes i know. Its already dirty. The heat shields are polished on the underside. I couldnt help myself but i know i will regret it.

Made a bit more progress on the car over the past couple of months.

Got the radiator installed and made up some stainless steel pipes. I used a 66 mustang alloy radiator and 1.5" plumbing. Also added a line filler so the level was a up higher than the radiator. I cant get it higher than the heads but its close enough.

I made a start on my exhaust headers this weekend. Almost finished one side. Decided to go with 1 7/8 pipe. It is very tight, so took ages to get all the bends as tight as possible. I did my best to get the pipe lengths as close as possible but with such limited space it was a bit hard. These will be ceramic coated when finished. I dont have much clearance between the pipes and foot box. Might have to add a heat shield to protect the paint.

Any one got a source for 4 hole 1 7/8" flanges???
I have collectors that go down to 3" as shown in the pic (not yet welded), but am thinking i should add a 4 hole flange in between to allow for a track exhaust to be bolted on.

Nice work Liam, It's really coming together.

I made a separate set of headers for the under car exhaust. I figured i didn't want to make too many compromises with the side pipe headers.

My undercar headers were based on Corvette exhaust manifolds (cut down to fit). They were cheap to buy and tucked in close to the block. Several folks have used them for rego now in fact I'm not really sure who has them at the moment.

If you are careful with the routing of your pipes you can make the headers pretty easy to unbolt and remove. I can unbolt mine and take them out through the engine bay pretty easily. I also went with 1 7/8" primaries as they suit my cam and intake combo.

The corvette style wouldn't work on mine due to the chassis layout. I also have my motor mounted a fair way back and also the foot boxes quite big. All this adds up to the exhaust going forward and out instead of out straight to the side.

Are your headers stainless or ceramic coated? Also did you make the 4 hole flange or buy it?

The headers are ceramic coated mild steel. I got the 4 hole flanges from Daren Difillipo in Melton Vic.

Liam - You might try Best Mufflers at Carlton for those flanges. I could pick them up and you could collect them anytime.

I fully understand the enjoyment that goes into posting any progress on the car. In most cases it represent hours and hours of thought, research, hard yakka, lacerations & bruises, AND money. The posts provide comfort to other builders that we are not alone.
